Technical Writer

(Based in Beijing, R&D Dept, Talend China)

As part of Talend's Beijing R&D Center activity development, we are recruiting a technical writer who will be responsible to liaise with the programmers, developers & QA engineers to analyse, determine and document the features and functionalities of Talend's products, and work closely with other technical writers (based in France and China) in order to deliver high quality documentation in English.

Responsibilities:

● Design, create and update technical documentation in English, such as administrator guides, user guides, installation guides and components reference guides, including creating text and graphic information in DocBook XML format and generating PDF and HTML documentation deliverables using Oxygen, and creating other types of technical documentation using other tools.

● Work extensively on the product and gather required information from available sources to understand the technical details and functionality to be documented.

● Provide clear and concise descriptions of products, features, updates, processes and procedures.

● Write technical information for both internal and external audience in a timely manner.

● Work closely with developers, QA engineers and other technical writing team members based both inside and outside China to ensure technical accuracy of the documentation.

● Review documentation written by other team members.

● Translate existing technical documentation when required.

● Complete other tasks assigned by team leader and manager.

Qualification:

● BA/MA degree in technical writing, English, or a technical major

● At least 2 year's experience as technical writer

● Excellent English writing skills

● Good oral English and strong communication ability

● Familiar with authoring and editing tools including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, screen capture and cast tools

● Able to work in a fast pace environment solely or as part of a team

● Autonomous, resourceful, and quick in learning

● Independent, self-disciplined, and willing to work within tight guidelines

● Experience in writing for IT fields, in particular data integration, data quality and/or master data management fields, a strong plus

● HTML/XML experience, a strong plus

● Familiar with DocBook XML, a strong plus

● Familiar with any XML editor, a plus
