As a Senior User Experience (UX) Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the working cwith the engineering team in an Agile environment to define the user expierence for Websense’s Industry leading products. These activities may include site visits, interviews, task analysis, sketching, low-fidelity prototyping, high-fidelity prototyping, functional spec writing, running usability tests, writing up test results, and conducting heuristic usability reviews. Most projects are collaborative and there are regular opportunities to gain skills in new areas from other team members. This position is based in the Beijing office, but there will be weekly collaboration with the extended UX team in other international offices. You should feel comfortable conducting a full range of UX activities by yourself, with support and guidance from the rest of the team.

Requirements:

• Have developed mockups of interfaces for multiple products and seen the program from conception though customer testing of release.
• Experience designing information architectures or diagramming site navigation
• Experience sketching ideas for a product on a whiteboard or paper.
• Familiar with usability heuristics and reviewing products using this methodology
• Experience independently running and writing up task-based usability tests, either in school or in a work environment. Familiar with usability testing protocols.
• Experience interviewing and/or observing users in their normal work environment for the purposes of informing a design process.
• Experience using Visio, Axure, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq or other software tools to design product interfaces.
• Self-directed; able to take independently manage projects and drive them to completion.
• Experience writing high quality, structured reports and papers.
• Able to act as a lead on projects and programs.
• Degree in the field of Cognitive Science, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Interactive Design (IxD, Psychology, Software Engineering, Design or other applicable area, or equivalent work experience.)
• Additional 4+ years industry work experience in a UX-related role
• Strong English language skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiar with methods associated with a user centered design process.
• Knowledge of the Security Industry
• Experience within an Agile Environment
• Sound Computer Science knowledge, preferably with security and/or networking products.
• Prior work experience with Enterprise class products.
