JD Marketing Manager
Position Title Marketing Manager

Purpose of this Job
Lead the planning, development and execution of appropriate brand portfolio strategies and action plans in order to achieve the company’s short and long term objectives (volume, market share and profitable growth). Contribute as a member of the affiliate management team, building business strategy in the key areas of portfolio, taxation and regulation.
Accountability
1. Develop, agree and implement a coherent short and long term marketing strategy which supports the overall business plan, takes full advantage of the market’s potential and characteristics, thus contributing to long term sustainable market leadership. Ensure alignment of all programs with defined brand territory. Act as “brand guardian”, balancing short term needs with long term brand positioning
2. Develop an appropriate portfolio of brands in each profitable segment of the market (price and flavor categories) in order to meet current and forecasted demand and permit consumer movement to higher quality, premium products within the company offering. Develop deep consumer insights and competitor knowledge to ensure company portfolio meets consumer demands whilst achieving differentiation in the market.
3. Drive the cultural transformation from a brand centric to a brand and consumer focused organization. Direct local market innovation, market research and consumer insights initiatives in order to build a local pipeline of strategic portfolio and trade initiatives. Develop and launch new products and innovative new product and packaging concepts with growth potential to meet latent, unmet consumer preferences. Prepare new product concept proposals for stage gate approvals with the Managing Director and international stakeholders (as required).
4. Establish challenging growth objectives per brand and ensure that these goals are supported by appropriate resources and programs (advertising, promotions, media plans, events and other consumer touch points) in order to support short and long term brand profitability objectives. Identify critical touch points for consumers beyond traditional advertising and communication channels in order to maximize communication reach to the widest adult smoker audience. Conceive, plan and support the implementation of promotional programs (including retail and wholesale sales promotions, trade programs and incentives) which improve sales whilst reinforcing image communication in line with brand strategies and positioning. Support creative trade marketing initiatives (including new hardware and point of sales materials, pricing, trade education) in order to create impact at the point of sale in line with brand positioning.
5. Ensure effective collaboration and communication (reporting) with global marketing (global brand leaders & focus area heads, sales, product development, consumer insights and research communities) in order to achieve “relentless repeatability” of successful initiatives, share successes and failures and gain speed to market having the right support available at the right time.
