职位描述
Responsibility:
1)Qualify, maintain, review and approve welding related documents including: Inspection and Test Plans, pWPS’s/PQR’s/WPS, Weld Maps, consumable handling procedures etc…
2)Qualify and maintain Welder qualification, monitor performance, analyze repair data and recommend action for improvement..
3)Develops welding techniques, procedures, and application of welding equipment to problems involving fabrication of metals, utilizing knowledge of production specifications, properties and characteristics of metals and metal alloys, and engineering principles.
4)Conducts research and development investigations to develop and test new fabrication processes and procedures, improve existing or develop new welding equipment, develop new or modify current welding methods, techniques, and procedures, discover new patterns of welding phenomena, or to correlate and substantiate hypotheses.
5)Prepares technical reports as result of research and development and preventive maintenance investigations.
6)Establishes welding procedures to guide production and welding personnel relating to specification restrictions, material processes, pre- and post-heating requirements which involve use of complex alloys, unusual fabrication methods, welding of critical joints, and complex postheating requirements.
7)Evaluates new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes.
8)Directs and coordinates technical personnel in performing inspections to ensure workers' compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions, and standards; in testing welds for conformance with national code requirements; or testing welding personnel for certification.
9)To establish and maintain protocols and procedures for the weld testing of the company’s equipment prior to dispatch.
10)To actively contribute to the machine design from the welding engineer’s perspective and liaise with other engineers in the team during the design and manufacturing process to ensure that the welding process requirements are adhered to.
11)Provide welding engineering technical support to the sub contractors and Welding superintendent.
12)Assure integrity of the sub contractors welding operations.
13)Provide site based technical solutions to welding problems.
14)Conduct Interpret welding requirements and provides technical guidance as requested.
15)Participate as Technical Expert during audit for Welding activities
16)Advising and implementing new weld process, interpret of customer's requirements at bid stage
17)Be the liaising point with customers and engineering and manufacturing groups on welding related matters on a daily basis.
18)Select suitable WPS for Shop floor welding
19)Train welders and welding inspectors on weld failure analysis and eliminating weld defect problems
Requirement:
1)Bachelor of Science Degree in Welding Engineering, Welding Engineering Technology or other closely related field.
2)A minimum of 5 years of hands-on welding engineering experience.
3)A person with tube welding experience is preferred. In-depth ASME Section IX code experience is mandatory.
4)Knowledge in ASME, AWS, ISO, API codes
5)Able to accept responsibility and make decisions remotely.
6)Strong communication, team-building and facilitation skills required.
7)Good command of spoken and written English and Mandarin.
8)Formal training in audit techniques preferred.
9)Fluent in English and Chinese.
