SUMMARY
Under limited supervision, and representing Jabil's Supply Chain Management Team (SCM) in JDS, the candidate will be responsible for managing projects in Electronics and Mechanical that includes High End Semi, Key Chipset, Custom & electro-mechanical components to support design and transition of all new product design or customer transfer programs from concept to manufacturing as required. The Project Manager will be required lead a SCM cross functional team in execution to accomplish these tasks. Managing key strategic supplier relationships, formulate project and material procurement plan, Project reporting and identifying and controlling SCM risks. In addition, this person will be responsible for quoting new business and interfacing with customers, suppliers and all internal functional groups which require this service and support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
? Interfaces with the appropriate SCM cross functional team members required to support new design and customer transfer programs.
? Develops and provides customer quotes for EE & ME components and materials, chipset, tooling and NRE utilizing the regional GME quote team.
? Manages early supplier involvement by critiquing designs and concepts of new products to assure supplier manufacturability and enhance quality.
? Works with commodity management to establish procurement strategies to support the acquisition of materials for new products.
? Works with commodity management to establish procurement strategies to support the acquisition of materials for new products viable for the domain with reference to Jabil's Strategies.
? Manages and implements total cost concepts applicable to the acquisition of materials for new products such as negotiate favorable pricing, payment terms, and advanced supply chain optimization programs such as supplier-owned inventory, Just-in-Time delivery schedules, reduced lead times and cancellation terms, return privileges, DIA and EDI/SIS demand communication with key suppliers falling outside JABIL'S strategic supplier base.
? Provides business expertise and support to new product start-up teams to manage the front-end supplier/part selection process.
? Establishes procurement business systems and controls to analyze and quantify the cost and risk impact of the various design/supplier alternatives (e.g. single and sole sourcing as well as capital expenditures for tooling). Continuous effort in sourcing and for new suppliers and manage their initial selection process.
? Assists Business Units in identifying make/buy opportunities for custom mechanical components as well as value added assemblies.
? Coordinates team efforts consisting of Tooling, Manufacturing Engineering, Design / Development Engineering and suppliers to establish critical specifications to monitor within the supplier's process control system.
? Provides the Engineering Program Manager or Business Unit with the visibility needed to execute the material acquisition plan including lead times, qualifications, material status, schedule impacts related to design documentation changes, and material ordering plans.
? Identifies opportunities and influence where standardization of designs including chipset, components and manufacturing processes exists.
? Works with the Legal Department to provide legal protection for confidential/ intellectual property by assuring non-disclosure agreements are in place.
? Evaluates tooling costs to determine the benefits of hard versus soft tooling in conjunction with Design Engineering and business requirements. Identify competitive functional alternatives during the definition stages of the project.
? Performs value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) on new product design and customer transfer programs in a cooperative effort with various Engineering groups, Quality Assurance including supplier interaction.
? Follow all Corporate Occupational Safety and Health Policies and Procedures.
? Provide supplier (market) as cost guidance on key components as commodities, via GCM , SCSM, during the PCP process after reviewing with lead SCPM.
? Work closely with Product Architecture or Project Manager to match Jabil and customer road maps to supplier road maps based on lead SCPM direction.
? Coordinate with the purchasing community to structure the relation with our suppliers.
? Supporting lead SCPM on the overview and projects progress management of the unit.
? Utilized all system tools effectively to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the different databases with purchasing data and contributing to the underlying processes. (Transfer - Production sites)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors Degree in engineering, mechanical/Electronics or possess the equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge in Top Level Box Build Project Management and design process of mechanical enclosure type products and exposure to the Early Supplier Involvement (ESI) process that transitions a product from the design phase through to manufacturing. Possess project management skills including scheduling and resource allocation forecasting. Proficient skills in various software applications including CAD, Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio. Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent command of the English language (written and verbal). Must be able to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. A proven track record in Medical appropriate market segment. Prefer minimum 5 years supply chain related experience at a major OEM in the Medical market segment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Periodic travel to customer, vendor and/or Jabil sites is required - up to 30% travel. Must be willing to travel internationally
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil's software packages. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and communicate regarding common scientific and/or technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
