Summary:
Personates an active part of the BL GS' M&S competences managing product, application, market related data with the goal to support and to improve M&S activities and results. Provides technical guidance and support to sales forces, other BL functions, and/or customers on a global basis for assigned product or application/market area and actively contributes to market development.
Responsibilities:
? Responsible for regional implementation of segment strategy, product positioning and price strategy as well as technical support;
Knowledge Management
? Product management is an active part of the Information network between Marketing and the Sales Force; all information gathering and handling is done jointly together with Marketing and Sales;
? Constantly collects, Updates, and makes available Information (related to assigned product & application area) about:
? products and manufacturing capabilities (all Sites);
? product applications (applicability incl. strength & weaknesses);
? product Performance at the customers;
? opportunities via modification;
? Competitors (products, capabilities, capacities, properties, advantages, disadvantages, etc.);
? Strategies & tactics of competitors are analyzed together with Marketing;
? Initiates benchmarking related to products; evaluates and reports results;
? Collects information on trends in the current markets and applications, and screens for positive or negative impacts on BL GS business;
? Contributes to and maintains together with other BU functions (where applicable) a knowledge pool in a way that it is effectively useable by other members of the BU teams;
? Actively uses CRM system to maintain and provide customer related information;
Business Tactics and Market Development
? develops and establishes – together with Marketing and Supervisor business tactics to grow market share for GS products in assigned markets, application and product areas, respectively;
? proposes to Marketing and Supervisor Steps to improve existing market position, e.g.:
? appropriate moves in quality enhancements;
? appropriate portfolio changes;
? appropriate enhancement of technical or other Support Services to customers;
? monitors market developments on competition, pricing and application changes; analyses such developments and agrees with Marketing on corresponding tactics and actions;
? develops together with Sales annual sales budgets for assigned products and markets, which's execution is in the responsibility of sales management; monitoring is done on a "team-basis";
? communicates all related business tactics to Sales and Marketing;
? contributes to business development in existing markets, e.g. by:
? evaluating customers key requirements and searching for additional product opportunities;
? evaluating value and acceptance for alternative supply opportunities;
? initiates and contributes to the progress of technical product innovations by translating customer requirements into technical development projects together with the concerned internal functions, in particular R&D / NBD;
? initiates and coordinates all necessary efforts as project manager in new projects primarily driven by existing customers;
Support for Operational Business
? Advises, serves and Supports target customers regarding technical application in co-operation with Sales;
? Supports and advises Sales by proposing layout, material, and other constructive details for its offers to the customer (in cooperation with CAD group);
? Calculates constructive components according to the customers requirements;
? Performs technical clarifications (in case it cannot be done by Sales directly) and does final checks for more complicated offers and orders;
? Supports sales in pricing of demanding and complicated Orders or projects; maintains price history for assigned products as well as updated global market and competitor Information to ensure best position for BL GS pricing efforts (in cooperation with Sales and according to pricing strategy);
? Ensures or manages an efficient technical Order processing and co-ordinates all customer-related technical issues on running Orders through the System;
? Performs material planning together with Sales and KAM and provides according Updates to Supply Chain Management;
? Supports sales in preparation of Standard presentations or related tools to introduce BL GS' capabilities to new customers;
? Prepares, maintains, and Updates product information brochures and leaflets (in co-operation with Marketing);
? Contributes to preparation, organization, and execution of tradeshows and exhibitions;
? Prepares and performs product and application training sessions for internal functions (e.g. sales) as well as for customers;
? Prepares and performs vocal presentations or articles for industry meetings, trade shows, selected magazines, and other appropriate events in Order to introduce BL GS' capabilities;
? Collects and immediately distributes relevant changes in product quality or bottle necks or manufacturing capabilities as well as other facts that might affect business or relation to the customers;
? Takes up, deals with and clarifies technical aspects of customer complaints in co-operation with Sales;
? passes on relevant information to concerned internal functions and concerned departments;
? initiates further investigation and developments in order to gain the necessary improvements;
? Approx 30% travel.
Requirements:
? Graduated engineer;
? 8 years experience in sales and/or marketing background in commercial areas;
? Professional background in industrial environment excellent English language skills;
? Knowledge in IT Solutions (SAP. CRM, MS Office obligatory);
? Deeply knowledge of any product related to targeting industries, familiar with all products of BU GS.
