As a BDM, you are Microsoft’s representative to academia helping to win the hearts and minds of the student developer and their educators. The BDM is both a business and a technical role with the mission of engaging with the broad community of academics and driving excitement around Microsoft technologies. This position is a great opportunity to help improve perception of Microsoft in academia and to increase student usage of Microsoft’s technologies through breadth marketing programs as well as depth engagement with key accounts.

We are looking for a person who is enthusiastic about software and engaging with the academic community. As a BDM for Academic, one must be able to talk about technology intelligently and enthusiastically to students, faculty and IT Professionals. Passion, curiosity, technical depth and exceptional communication and presentation skills are required.

Responsibility
- Engage and build relationship with university students, faculties, influencers, vendors and associations to scale our evangelism efforts
- Deliver academically oriented Microsoft devices & cloud content on university campuses and academic events to both small and large audiences
- Able to market Microsoft academic-related programs to ensure awareness and participation of universities; and improve Microsoft's image via branding and messaging
- Participate in academic developer online and offline student and faculty community
- Deliver articulate, effective, and audience-appropriate presentations and demonstrations
- Convey a compelling and convincing case for Microsoft technologies vs. the competition
- Build strong cross group collaboration with other DPE pillars and initiative owners. Be an active member of the Area Education Alliance Board and work with other Education stakeholders, such as PSG, MSL, MSRA, CSS & STBC.

Qualifications:
- Solid relationships and insights of the academic ecosystem a must, i.e. with academic teaching or research background, or previous MNC evangelism experiences
- Result-oriented against challenging metrics and scorecards under pressure
- Passion & understanding for devices & cloud technologies, a keen eye for unobvious opportunities
- Unparalleled communication and collaboration skills
