Part 1: Describe the Position

Summary

A) List the essential functions and major activities in order of their importance.

- Owner of Annual Strategic Planning process. Responsible for creation, implementation and maintenance of the organizational-wide strategies and strategic plan

- Support global Value Center Business Development and Xylem China leadership team to evaluate mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, business development, and corporate strategy initiatives. Perform market research, conduct competitive analysis, and develop financial analyses to evaluate business opportunities in accordance with long term strategy

- Develop and maintain quarterly macro-trend and key market activities monitoring for target markets and region.

- Developing and maintaining a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects through proactive lead generation and timely, effective response to business inquiries.

- Establish initial relationship with client prospects, engage senior management appropriately, successfully expand or evolve relationship to include appropriate contacts and monitor relationship development

- Execute and oversee special projects and lead special cross functional teams to develop and evaluate investment opportunities and execute against key strategies

- Assist Marketing Managers to conduct industry analysis, market surveys and building company profiles for strategic decision making; Cooperate with global VCs and Xylem China marketing teams to build business plans and presentations

- Build and maintain customer data base and information structure in cooperation with the Marketing Communication group and maintaining contacts with external information suppliers

Part 2: Describe the Person

A) Minimum professional and educational background desired (include years of experience).

- University graduate, with market research, statistics or finance focus; MBA preferred

- Experience: minimal 4 years of relevant experience in collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and presenting business information; have a network of external information sources.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Familiar with advanced statistical analysis and research methodologies, along with common computer programs (such as PowerPoint, Word and Excel), online survey tools and syndicated data sources

- Good time management, critical thinking and problem solving skills to complete marketing research in a timely, precise manner.

B) In addition, the individual will possess the following attributes:

-Willing to focus on technical / engineering delivery in the various environments during the continuous process

-Good learning and analysis capability especially in technical marketing

-Good communication internally and externally

-Uncompromised customer focus and willingness to listen to and understand both internal and external customers.
