Position Overview:
Responsible for overall marketing efforts in North China, including Beijing, Tianjin, Shenyang and any new office opens in future. The effort includes developing marketing plans, managing marketing budgets and staffing and managing the North China marketing team. Work closely with the business to improve awareness and develop innovative marketing ideas as well as partner with China and Greater China marketing teams to drive synergy and collaboration. Directly responsible for the team's leadership, regional awareness and continued adoption, and ability to resolve regional challenges while adhering to allocated budgets. Partner with BDM (Business Development Marketing) team to deliver intelligence and insights to business and support training in North China.
Desired Experience:
Ten or more years of relevant experience (experience in a professional services or technology organization working on proposal teams is highly desirable). Excellent leadership, writing and project management athleticism are essential. Highly capable of working on a Microsoft platform with experience managing marketing programs, business development effots, and creative and graphics solutions. Must be able to lead or thrive in a team environment, work independently and under pressure with an ability to manage senior professionals and their expectations.
Responsibilities include:
Strategic Planning
§ Understands the business environment with an ability to identify and plan differentiated and impactful marketing strategies
§ Manages the development/execution of strategic, integrated marketing communications plans, budget and measurable targets for the specified geographic market, positioning Jones Lang LaSalle as an thought leader and trusted adviser to clients
§ Liaises with China business leaders and regional marketing team to drive strategy for targeted marketing activities for assigned business lines, develop plans and collaborates with China marketing team as needed
§ Works closely with marketing team members in respective markets to drive synergy across China and Greater China (cross business and cross border initiatives)
Marketing Communication
§ Organizes all media and client events, ensuring our objectives are met and the events receive high marks from attendees (internal and external)
§ Develops media relations plans and implements with team and outsourced public relations firm
§ Ensures that business lines are equipped with professionally produced and targeted collateral / tools to support their business development efforts
§ Identifies targeted speaking opportunities for business leaders, and explore opportunities for joint marketing effort with 3rd party organizations or other well-known brands
§ Ensures that leadership profiling, new assignments, significant transactions, research and other newsworthy items are actively pitched to the media and our "highest share of voice" position is maintained in China
§ Arrange draft press releases, distributes to target media and follows up with media
§ Works with China and Greater China marketing leaders to build media relations with trade media (broadcast, print and online media)
§ Effectively identifies and manages outside resources and vendors, with an understanding of creative services, printing and production
§ Work closely with BDM team to produce BD baselines, deliver intelligence/insights to business, and support sales training in North China
§ Work closely with HR and MDs to drive internal communications through leadership messages, staff road show, informal gatherings and staff newsletters, etc.
§ Oversight to monitor and update highlights for Connect site (intranet)
§ Oversight for updates and monitors highlights on website pages
Brand Management
§ Ensures that all marketing, communication and business development activities are aligned with Jones Lang LaSalle's brand image and graphics guidelines.
§ Act as the Brand champions for local market - conduct Brand Trainings for North China staff, and media trainings for spokesperson and on-site staff.
Skills / Qualities Required:
§ Knowledge about and experience working in China, Beijing specifically, required
§ Experience working in multinational corporations
§ Minimum 12-15 years of marketing and public relations experience of which at least 8+ years in the capacity of a manager or above
§ Appropriate high-level education (such as a Bachelor's Degree), preferably in marketing, journalism or communications
§ Strong leadership skills; highly assertive with an independent working style
§ Ability to set objectives for self while working closely with marketing leadership and senior management
§ Excellent communication skills - both English and Chinese (Mandarin)
§ Dynamic and open-minded personality
§ Strong project management skills
§ Good presentation skills
§ Understanding of and commitment to client service - both internal and external
§ Ability and willingness to work as a member of a team
§ Attentive to details
§ Knowledgeable of new media (understanding the channels and general adoption)
