Job Responsibilities:

Store acquisitions:

1. Provide general legal advice to the Property Acquisition management team for the store acquisition/disposal projects in China including negotiation with the landlords, drafting lease agreements /supplementary agreements based on Tesco template, advising on communication etc.;

2. Oversee the acquisition projects and well allocate and manage the work (in-house or outsourced);

Report to and communicate with Property Legal team in the UK for governance on the acquisition projects regularly;

3. Interact with Property Legal team in Beijing for stores in Lifespace malls (Tesco property);

Litigation/Disputes:

1. Provide legal advice to different dispute management and litigation support to the Property management team;

2. Advise the business as to their strategic options during any dispute;

3. Manage litigation and disputes related documents and statistics for analysis purposes;

Training:

Develop and deliver appropriate training and guidance for specific areas where required;

Managing external lawyers:

1. Manage external lawyers (maybe different firms in different regions) and ensure that all external legal work is provided in an efficient and a cost-effective way;

2. Learn from external firms, have best practice sharing and bring the experience in-house.

Job Requirement:

1. LLB Degree, PRC qualified attorney with 6+ years of experience. LLM or overseas study as a plus;

2. Strong communication skill with all different levels;

3. Good exposure to senior management team;

4. Good experience in property (e.g. lease) and dispute;

5. Excellent English-language skill in both speaking and writing;

6. Experience in MNCs or in reputable law firms;

7. Organized and able to work independently and under pressure;

8. Ability to handle multiple tasks;

9. Resilient and able to rise to challenges.
