JOB OBJECTIVES:
Create product development strategies, policies and procedures, support the technical management team with regards to product development needs of the countries.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Initiate, define and coordinate product development concept and activities for Asia in coordination with commercial product management
2. Develop product development strategies; perform property gap analysis and roadmaps, guidelines to implement across Asia Pacific
3. Representative of A-PME in R&D and patent related questions, transfer product know-how as well as cooperation with customers and institutes and other regions
4. Participation in PR related activities (press releases, presentations, articles) and support of association and committee activities
5. Manage the technical aspects of the RBU’s product development portfolio in compliance with targets and strategies
6. Ability to handle the complexities relating to the understanding of ever-changing industry needs, value chain, technical innovations, concepts, material contents and product changes
7. Responsible for new product portfolio
8. Keep abreast on competitive products
9. Interfaces internally with sales, marketing, technical experts in all countries in Asia Pacific as well as the technical communities in Global .i.e R&D
10. Support activities with respect to commercial products (such as specifications, claim support, approvals)

REQUIREMENTS:
1. PHD in Polymer/Chemical Engineering
2. At least 8 years of total experience in plastics industry. At least 6 years in technical functions, in application and/or product development.
3. Familiar with formulation technology for engineering plastics; Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint); DOE/Statistical data analysis.
4. Sound English (reading, writing, speaking)
