Red Hat Engineering is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Data
Analyst/Modeler position. The successful candidate will have opportunity
to design and build the data warehouse and business intelligence
products with the latest open source technology.


Responsibilities:
* Ability to work and communicate effectively with remote team members
and business stakeholders located in varying office locations and time
zones throughout global.
* Works closely with product manager and source system owners to help
transform business requirements into technical “Blue Prints” to build
enterprise data warehouse.
* Maintains technical documentation and captures both technical and
business enterprise level meta-data into various Data Dictionary
repositories.
* Creates Data Architecture models and artifacts including subject area,
conceptual, logical, dimensional and physical data models that are used
to communicate data designs to a wide variety of corporate stakeholders.
* Communicates physical database designs to Database Administrators, ETL
and BI-Report Developers.
* Works jointly with ETL developers to map source system(s) data to Data
Warehouse models.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree on computer science or equivalent.
* 4+ years working experience in modeling for data warehouse projects
and solutions.
* Background in Business Intelligence methods, approaches and concepts.
* Expertise with multiple types of models including subject
area,conceptual, logical, dimensional and physical data models.
* Familiarity with third normal form data modeling and dimensional data
modeling.
* Familiarity with data modeling standards including naming conventions.
* Knowledge of development approaches, architecture concepts like ODS
(operational data store), master data management, meta data
management,slowly-changing dimensions.
* Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.

Required skills:
* Familiar with common data modeling tools like Erwin,SQL Power
Architect etc.
* Familiar with at least one database management software (PostgreSQL is
a plus).
* Familiar with working in a Linux environment.
* Familiar with at least one ETL tool (Kettle is a plus).
* Familiar with at least one BI tool (Pentaho Business Analytics is a plus).
* Be good at SQL performance tuning,Linux shell scripting.
* Strong SQL skills to profile source system data while validating data
modeling design assumptions.


Preferred:
* A working knowledge of Inmon or Kimball type data architectural
principles along with dimensional and relational data modeling technique.
* Familiar with IBM or Teradata data warehouse industry model.
* Experience in Java development is a plus.
* Experience in data mining is a plus.
