About us
Volvo Group Telematics (VGT) is hosted by Volvo IT and is a global organization within the Volvo Group providing telematics off-board services. Volvo Group Telematics enables and accelerate customer-oriented off-board telematics service development and delivery.
Volvo Group Telematics supports the Volvo Group and external customers in the automotive car OEM segment, such as BMW and Volvo Cars through the WirelessCar brand.
Volvo Group Telematics is looking for an Application Support technician to reinforce its Global Support organization. The Application Support technician is responsible for providing support services to our customers and users according to the Service Level Agreement. This requires communication with the different VGT sites and departments as well as external customers, suppliers and partners. The Application Support technician carries out 2nd line technical support. The telematics solutions are dependent on a very high availability, which put high demands on attention and care in the daily work.
Key responsibilities
- Support customers by handling incidents and requests
· Analysing and resolving incidents
· Identifying potential solution defects
- Being specialist for one or more solutions
· Document information which will enable knowledge sharing and continuously improved delivery.
- Communicate service status information to customers and stakeholders.
- Propose changes and improvements that make the application more efficient and/or reduce operation or maintenance cost.
- Is involved in improving the runtime delivery to ensure a stable and continuously improved service.
- Participate in the planning of application maintenance and deployment activities.
· Participate in the project test phase.
Main competences and experience
- You have academic qualifications and/or experience in all or most of the following areas:
- Oracle 10/11
- SQL
- Unix/Linux
- Scripting (Bash and Perl)
- Knowledge on handling Java/JBOSS based application
