SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Production Supervisor participates directly in manufacturing operations as described below. This position is specifically responsible for coordinating, directing, and supervising one of the applicable groups.

Assembly:
Under the direction of the General Supervisor (Assembly), the incumbent is responsible for the assembly of all machines. The incumbent works with all Manufacturing department Supervisors including Warehouse, Engineering, and Quality in order to solve problems and to insure availability of materials and information required to build machines. Focus is on safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Train and develop and direct reports in order to efficiently complete work.
2. Works with Human Resources in disciplinary situations.
3. Maintain a safe and efficient working environment emphasizing neat, orderly housekeeping, daily equipment maintenance and attention to specific problems.
4. Enforce the work rules as they apply to direct reports.
5. Adhere to schedules and make sound decisions when deviation from such schedules is necessary.
6. Support and promote cost improvement ideas.
7. Promote good labor relations through consistency of action, fairness, effective communications and respect to all employees.
8. Recommend labor force manning levels/changes and overtime requirements.
9. Maintain such records as overtime, Kronos, data collection, vacation, personal days, etc.
10. Practice and instill safety adherence as a first priority to achieve accident-free work performance.
11. Functioning as a team player, coordinate requirements with Quality, Assembly, Shipping, and Test departments.

QUALIFICATIONS

Five (5) years experience in heavy industry assembly/machining preferred, BS Degree in a Technical field also considered. Supervisory experience, good communications skills, strong leadership, and a mechanical aptitude are necessary.
