RF Design Engineer for Freescale Chengdu Design Center (Location: Chengdu)
Freescale Semiconductor is a global leader in the design and manufacture of embedded semiconductors for the automotive, consumer, industrial and networking markets. Our products are all around us, you touch them every day.
As the one of the most important product lines of Freescale – The RF group is one important business unit of Freescale Semiconductor. RFG develops high power discrete and IC solutions for the Cellular Infrastructure (GSM, W-CDMA, WiMax, TDSCDMA), CATV, Industrial-Scientific-Medical, and Microwave/Avionics markets. Key product offerings are used in: cellular and WiMax basestations, analog/digital broadcast television systems, cable TV systems, industrial RF systems, as well as other applications.
In order for better support for this product line, Freescale builds the design center in Chengdu with more than ten engineers working for LDMOS discrete transistor and IC design and application development, as well as customer support.
We now recruit the “design engineer” for Freescale RFD Chengdu design center, taking care of the rapidly grow Freescale RF business.

Primary Responsibilities:
The design and development of Discrete High Power RF Transistors for the wireless infrastructure markets. Design work involves electromagnetic simulation and low impedance transistor matching networks including integrated passives, wire bonds, MOSCAPs, packaging interfaces and PCB board level matching. The design process uses a combination of measurement based techniques (e.g. loadpull data, etc) and CAD software with the use of linear and non-linear models. The design process will make use of Agilent’s ADS, 3D and planar electromagnetic simulation tools. The position will require for the individual to work closely with device engineers, product engineers, modeling engineers and manufacturing personnel for successful and timely product introduction.
Qualifications
:
To ensure your successful performance in this role, the following working experience is required:
Candidate will hold a minimum of MS in electrical engineering, physics or related technical field and have a minimum of 1 year direct experience in designing high-power RF transistor internal-matching networks using LDMOS or GaAs HFET technologies, corresponding to devices with more than 60W output power at 2 GHz and above. The engineer must have a strong background on Microwave and RF engineering with an emphasis on several of the following areas:
· Hands-on experience with board level tuning and optimization of matching networks.
· Microwave measurement techniques (S-parameters, loadpull setups, VNA calibration techniques, spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc).
· Understanding and development of advanced RF/microwave measurement techniques
· Working knowledge with Agilents Advanced Design System (ADS) , Ansofts High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and planar electromagnetic solvers (Sonnets Em and/or Agilents Momentum)
· Solid understanding concerning circuit instability and strategies to resolve them.
· ISM & Broadcasting products experience will be the plus.
· Strong communication skills.
