Requisition Description:
This position is part of a RTL-GDS flow development team. A person in this position is responsible for developing, testing, and supporting leading edge ASIC design methodologies for deployment to a broad customer base. These flows are production capable in nature leveraging and driving the latest capabilities of the Synopsys tools, including the appropriate analysis tools, with emphasis on such items as hierarchical design, advanced low power, TTR & QOR configurations, and heuristics to improve convergence. Specific responsibilities include:

? Working with the design flow development team to specify, develop and test flows.
? Assist in the gathering, refining and tracking of flow requirements as driven from such items as end user feedback, new tool capabilities, and engineering judgment.
? Analyze various flow configurations using integrated metrics to validate performance, investigate improvements in methodologies and monitor tool performance.
? Coordinate with and develop strong relationships with Lynx CAEs, Flow CAEs, Synopsys Application Consultants and Synopsys Software product CAEs.
? Work with the Flow CAE team assisting in the development of training material and documentation, as well as periodic customer support and pre-sales.
? Work with product level core teams (ACs) across multiple BUs (CAEs) to bring attention to product defects, drive new and improved tool capabilities and methodologies, and share and align on best practices.
? Resolving library and technology files issues for design flows.
? Provide project-level leadership to complete project tasks; taking leadership from management and providing leadership to other team members; Emphasis on physical design skills is required.
? Is able to assume leadership role; drive communications; requirements definition; plan creation; project execution; project management.
Generally, this position involves the integration of multiple products, which are highly technical and sophisticated in nature, to implement RTL-GDS flow; Drives existing and new product evolution; Interacts with cross-functionally with other Synopsys teams; Write papers for technical conferences centered on flows and methodology; provides influence on future product direction.

Requirements:
BS with 7+ years of relevant experience, MS with 5+ years of relevant experience, or related Ph.D. with 1+ years of experience. Good knowledge of high-level design methodologies, strong communication, leadership skills are required. Proficient in Physical design methodology and a strong understanding of ASIC design flows, VLSI, and/or CAD engineering, knowledge of competitive EDA tool products and product knowledge in the areas of Place and Route, Design Reuse and/or Physical Design is highly desired.
