Role Summary/Purpose
To provide technical support for in-house welding and fabrication activites/materials for Surface and Drilling components with utmost integrity,safety and quality.

Essential Responsibilities
- Compliance with all applicable quality, EHS regulations, ensure the proper working environment for welders.
- Support newly joined welders to qualify them with respective welding methods such as SAW, TIG, SMAW, GMAW, etc.
- Resolve welding/material issues arising during qualification/production stages without compromising quality.
- Participate in the project kick off meetings with internal stake holders and customers and should resolve the technical queries.
- Work closely with other GE site welding/materials team to establish a sound work methods/procedures.
- Support production to optimize the continuous productivity and quality improvement.
- Provide, inspect and maintain all tools and fixtures required for the job.
- Perform all duties as assigned by team leader, feedback the implementation and problems in carrying it out.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Materials Engineering or related field with at least three years relevant experiences in welding industry, its manufacturing, inspection and quality control processes.
- Be able to read - understand engineering drawing and welding symbols.
- Should have thorough knowledge in welding/welder qualification procedures in the process such as, SAW, TIG, SMAW, GMAW, Orbital TIG welding.
- Good interpersonal skills and must be a team player.
- Good English in written and speaking.

Desired Characteristics

- Have relevant experiences in oil field.
- Understand related material and welding industry codes such as ASME,Nace, API 6A, 17 D, AWS etc.
- Have good working experience/vast knowledge in qualification of weld procedures involving materials like Low alloy steel, Austenitic S.S, Duplex S.S.
- Knowledge on implementation of process, organization and project planning skills.
- Good understanding of contractual business and project operation.
- Six-sigma green belt certified.
