Role Summary/Purpose

This position will be responsible for providing integrated modular avionics (IMA) technical leadership as part of the development of an integrated avionics system for a new civil aircraft. In this role, you will be part of a Customer Focus Team which will provide technical leadership and serve as the primary customer interface for large avionics systems projects. You will regularly interface with customers, partner companies, suppliers and other senior leadership within the company.

Essential Responsibilities

This job will include the following: • Provide consultation and technical direction to the engineering community on near term and longer-range projects with substantial business impact • Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty for new products introduction activity, performance improvements, cost reductions and problem resolutions • Be a recognized leader in defining the state of the art in own technical specialty in order to anticipate, develop and apply technology to current and future business opportunities. • Provide engineering support, within one's specialty, to teams working on performance, cost reduction and quality initiatives • Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company This role will function as the primary customer interface and technical decision maker for the requirements generation and design of the Integrated Modular Avionics platform, including remote data interface units, the ARINC 664 AFDX databus and ARINC 664 switches. You will interact with the customer IMA team to generate and maintain Tier 1 and 2 requirements. You will need to coordinate with other systems teams for their appropriate integration planning and interface control documents (ICDs).

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline from an accredited university.• At least ten years of technical and/or project leadership experience in Avionics or Aircraft Systems or related Product design and development. • At least five years of experience working directly with IMA systems.• At least five years of experience defining IMA requirements for an aircraft program.• At least three years of experience working with real-time operating systems, embedded systems and avionics data buses (ARINC 664, ARINC 429, ARINC 485).• Prior experience working directly with customers to define requirements, design and develop solutions to complex aircraft problems is required. • Some working knowledge of the ARP-4754 Systems Development Process, DO-297 and DO-178B. • Have a working knowledge of the systems engineering life cycle including requirements definition, validation, integration, certification, safety analysis, and verification.• Working knowledge of the systems engineering life cycle including requirements definition, validation, integration, certification, safety analysis, and verification.• Ability to work with local, remote, and cross-cultural teamsTravel Requirements:Up to 25% travel. Desired Characteristics
