Position description
The BTS Management Consulting Development Program is a one year professional development program for recent graduates, based in Gothenburg, Sweden (This will also include a Short Term Assignment in China).
As a management consultant within BTS you will work on projects as a full time team member. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced project managers to implement strategies and deliver business value for the Volvo Group across a variety of projects. In the daily work on projects, a BTS project manager will be responsible for the consultant’s and the overall project team’s delivery and be the closest coach.
During the Program the consultant will report to one of the BTS group managers in Sweden. Following completion of the Program the consultant will report to the Head of BTS Asia.
During the first year as a consultant you will form a specific team with two other consultant colleagues under the leadership and coaching of a dedicated team leader. The three consultants will take part in a development program focusing on developing your general skills (problem solving, communication, people and work stream leadership) to succeed as a management consultant on BTS projects. The program is based on on-the-job training and coaching combined with a thorough introduction to the Volvo Group, formal trainings, and dedicated and coaching and mentorship by the team leader and other experienced consultants.
Your role - what we can offer:
You will take a distinct part in different strategic assignments within the Volvo Group
You will play an important role on the projects in the analysis phase, as well as actively contribute to the project team’s final recommendations
You will contribute to project team’s working style, schedule and work methods
You will form a team with your consultant colleagues and participate in a management consultant development program with a dedicated team leader
You will over time deepen your knowledge of and contribute to selected key competence areas
You will take an active role in growing the BTS culture and team spirit
Qualifications - what we look for:
Recent graduates or young professionals with up to 2 years professional experience from any relevant area (e.g. trainee background, project management background, functional experience from sales, controlling, product planning/development, etc.). We value diverse backgrounds in our team
Academic degree (primarily within business or engineering) with strong results
People who achieve – high performers with strong drive and high ambition
People who enjoy problem solving – analytical skills and ability to synthesize findings
People who are good team players – open minded with an ability to network, as well as contributing as an inspirational team member
People who have personal integrity and ability to exercise sound judgment and common sense
English proficiency (both written and spoken)
