POSITION DESCRIPTION
Report to: Senior Manager
This position is a role that will give you significant exposure to a wide range of applications that support our Retail Stores. Work with business & IT teams to ensure business information requirements and system development goals are achieved as well as provide daily support to the POS applications that run the stores.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • As a POS business analyst, the successful candidate will identify opportunities to use specific functional capability to improve the business processes and operational efficiency with the POS systems, documents the detail design and configuration of the business process.
  • Acts as contact for all users on system issues or problems. Troubleshoots, identifies and tracks software and hardware issues to ensure resolution and keep systems operational. Develops recommendations and coordinates issue resolution with Information Technology (IT) and outside service providers based on business unit priorities.
  • Analyzes current processes, tools, system or database and makes recommendations for development, improvement or simplification. Acts as a subject matter expert in cross-functional teams to provide recommendations on new initiatives or projects.
  • Collaborates with business group management to develop appropriate training materials to support the needs of the functional area.
  • Gathers and documents business requirements. Helps design and develop new and improved processes, tools and system enhancements to support business unit requirements. Participates with IT developers in testing for system fixes, new releases and enhancements, changes and implementations, in order to ensure functionality and user acceptance.
  • Maintains the integrity and the functionality of business unit systems by performing system and database maintenance. Monitors system performance; analyzes problems and recommends solutions. Monitors usage, practices, trends to identify potential problems.
  • Works with IT partners, functional analysts and vendors on medium projects to coordinate system enhancements. A track project progress and provides updates to impacted parties. Communicates new system functionality to department and assists users in understanding implications.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Summary of Experience
  • Hands on experience in POS implementation/ configurations / troubleshooting 5 years
  • Perform UAT scenarios on a retail POS terminal to validate functionality of new software builds; Document changes and results 5 years
  • 3-5 years' experience in supporting retail applications, POS hardware and peripherals
  • Hands on experience with programming and configurations using .Net/JAVA/XML
  • Project management
  • End-user support and training
  • Particularly Micros POS development and implementation is a PLUS
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English, both orally and in writing
  • Effective customer service skills
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to convey technical information in an accessible and understandable manner
  • Analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Systems and process flow documentation skills
  • Understanding of functional area business objectives, strategies and work flow processes
  • Tracks project tasks and progress during solution deliver life cycle and performs project follow-up as required to ensure timely POS implementation
  • Develops thorough knowledge to understand the functional and hierarchical dependencies that affect POS
  • Determines POS requirements using business analysis, interviews, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, etc.
  • Composes detailed and comprehensive POS requirements and design documentation according to agree upon schedule and using a standardized template
