Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Support R&D roadmaps and project portfolios development for new products and processes
- Identify and develop the state-of-the-art materials analysis and characterization (chemical, physical analysis) techniques and instruments
- Lead and execute day to day R&D activities in material characterization and analysis in the newly established labs
- Collaborate among all groups in the technology center, including materials and process development, new product development and system understanding, characterization and modeling as well as new business development
- Collaborate with other Corning R&D and business organizations across the globe
- Identify and collaborate with external R&D and academia analytical labs for new product and process development for Corning
- Deliver and support new products and processes to Greater China businesses

Education & Experience
- PhD or MS in analytical chemistry, or physical chemistry
- 5+ years of industrial research or development experience, preferably in inorganic material characterization and analysis
- More than 2 years as a technical leader


Required Skills
- Deep fundamental knowledge of chemical and physical properties and surface properties of inorganic materials, especially ceramics and glass
- Strong knowledge and experience in the state-of-the-art materials characterization, physical and chemical analysis techniques and instrument
- Strong ability to perform product and process R&D in the lab environment utilizing material characterization and modeling technique and tools
- Ability to learn new technologies
- Ability to apply scientific method for technical problem solving
- Excellent communication/presentation skill

Desired Skills
- Broader knowledge in inorganic materials and their analytical techniques
- Knowledge of inorganic and organic material interactions
- Strong relationship with external analytical labs

Soft Skills
- Strong ability to collaborate with cross globe Corning R&D and business organizations
