Key Roles & Responsibilities are:
·At end of year and beginning of next year, develop category management strategy for next year and align shared objective with Corning Asia IT COE and HR COE
·Active leader/member of cross-functional teams focused on Strategic Sourcing process improvement, cost reduction and supply chain issue resolution
·Initiate and lead/participate in make versus buy decisions
·Lead the development of supply/service assurance and risk management strategies to match supply/service and demand capabilities and requirements
·Prepare and solicit competitive bids, quotations, and proposals with pertinent specifications, terms and conditions
·Work with legal, and the business in the review, approval, execution, and administration of supply/service agreements, contracts, Non-disclosure agreements etc
·Keep the businesses and function informed regarding market conditions, suppliers, lead times, and shifts in pricing for strategic global commodity materials and services
·Evaluate capabilities and capacities of current or proposed suppliers (supply/demand) and conduct supplier visits/evaluations to determine suitability
·Provide backup support in other special projects as needed

Reporting Structure: Direct report to Asia Strategic Sourcing Manager



Education & Experience
·7-10 years strategic sourcing activity with lead responsibility for supplier investigation, qualification, negotiation, supplier management
·Bachelors or Advanced Degree in IT, Engineering, Business or equivalent.
·MBA is a plus

Required Skills
·Experience in procurement, global competitive sourcing, material management, contract management, contract negotiation, SRM, eSourcing etc.
·Experience with procurement processes and systems.
·Strong project management experience with leading role on regional sourcing project on HR service or IT service.
·Experience working in a matrix environment or on a cross functional team.
·Technical aptitude/capability to review specifications and RFQ packages.
·Strong business ethics and integrity.
·Willingness to be mobile globally
·Must be able to attend meetings in the early morning and late evening local time to interact with suppliers and others in Corning who are in different time zones.
·Must be fluent in verbal and written English when discussing contracts and technical requirements on conference calls and when preparing ppt. presentations for Sr. Leaders.
·Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), APICS or certification related to Supply Chain
