Day to Day Responsibilities:
- Develop and update Asia Regional Level import and export compliance process, and drive the processes within the day-to day activities.
- Maintain the Asia products database, including country of origin, HTS classification and duty rate for analysis and dig out the potential saving opportunity.
- Offer support to handle and resolve the problems and the urgent cases of trade compliance within Asia region;
- Monitor regulatory activities pertaining to import/export to understand the impact to Corning, influence legislative process where possible and interpret regulatory requirements.
- Provide consultation and training to business units, maintaining a continual education program and conducting internal assessments to measure compliance and address gaps. Benchmark best practices in import and export compliance and incorporate best practices into Corning's processes.
- Be the liaison between the Corning regional entities and the regional regulatory agencies for import/export activity.
- Support the deployment of Corning GTS project, including business unit located at China, India, Japan, China Hong Kong and China Taiwan.
- Ability to classify commodities, software, or technology for any of the jurisdictions mentioned above.
- Offer support to handle and resolve the problems and the urgent cases of trade compliance within Asia region;
- Assist TC Asia Supply Management Director for deployment of Corning's Global Trading System under Asia centralized governance model.
- Monitor regulatory activities pertaining to import/export to understand the impact to Corning, influence legislative process where possible and interpret regulatory requirements.
- Be a key participant in establishing and maintaining local policy and procedures (linked to Global policies and procedures) with Asia Supply Management Director.

Education & Experience
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent,prefer graduate from Customs College.
- 2+ years in Customs/Trade Compliance operations
- Customs broker license
- Strong knowledge of Chinese customs processes is essential. Knowledge of Asia customs procedures is helpful.
Required Skills
- Understanding of China laws & policies for China Customs, CIQ regulations
- Fluent English language (oral and written)
- Fluent Japanese language
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong aptitude for IT tools and systems
- Ability to write and communicate clear processes and procedures
Desired Skills
- Experience of US export control policy and Export Commodity Classification Numbers (ECCN) is required
- Experience in Customs system management is a plus.
