Due to the continuous expansion of the Business the following vacancy now exist within the Ammonia, Methanol and Gas Processing business Unit for a Technical Sales Manager based in Beijing. The appointed person will be located in Beijing as part of the AMG Asia Pacific Team.

The role will be predominantly in the Methanol and Chemical Hydrogen areas in China. The geographical region covered will be principally China. You will be part of the team located in Beijing responsible for Business Development & Technical Sales activities.

Key attributes of the job include:

1 Minimum of University Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering required, from a reputed university.
2 Good verbal and written communication skills in English along with the ability to relate to every level in a customer's organization
3 Self-starter with initiative, high degree of integrity, capable of working with minimum supervision
4 Willing to travel 100-150 days per year including client entertainment
5 Computing skills
6 Large scale Operations Management and/or Engineering Support in either methanol, ammonia or H2 manufacture would be a significant advantage

You will require various skills and disciplines to meet your objectives. Challenges include:

? Growing organisations' sales in defined market segments:
o achieving the sales (value and volume) and debtor targets according to the budget and long term plan for China. This includes direct selling into the Chinese market via effective management of local agents.
o pricing, in line with the guidelines given by the Business and use of differentiated Services to maximise margins.
o to analyse, and report on customer and competitor activities in the territory. This will include proactive input to future product development
? Identifying new sales opportunities /creating the budget for the new year as well as 3 month rolling forecasts
? Making sales plans and improving market information
? Giving the customers technical and commercial support both at the customer site and over the phone / via written communication either by him/herself or by calling in someone from our technical support team by,
o Evaluating data from existing customers to ensure optimum performance of the catalyst systems and maximum catalyst life, backed up with a firm knowledge of the flowsheet.
o Troubleshooting plant problems when they arise, frequently through on-site support
o Providing expert advice and guidance during catalyst loading, plant start up, and reduction.
o Providing a variety of on-site services.

Ideally you will be a graduate Chemical Engineer with
? 5 years relevant experience preferably in ammonia/methanol plant operation, troubleshooting/ commissioning.
? Commercial experience in Sales & business development in this or similar areas will be an added advantage.
