Microsoft China’s Windows Client commercial strategy requires a new role in EPG called the Windows Client Sales Specialist (WCSS). The objective of this role is to lead the sales motion of the modern PC OS across our Enterprise Corporate and Public Sector customers. More than 80% of Chinese commercial and public sector organizations are still running Windows XP as their primary PC OS. Furthermore, 85% of PC’s purchased in China for use in the commercial and public sectors are improperly licensed, which results in greater risk to malware and data protection and reduced levels of support and capabilities.

Responsibilities and required skills:
The WCSS role will participate as part of an Account Team Unit (ATU), assigned named accounts, and will be responsible for establishing and driving Windows 7 Pro BOS Attach agreements and Windows 7 Enterprise Enrollment agreements through to close (0%-80% in MSPP). The WCSS role will cooperate with the Account Manager, responsible for the overall account relationship and licensing execution; the Account Technology Strategist, responsible for driving the customer’s acceptance of an Optimized Desktop strategy and deployment; and the TSP-Optimized Desktop, responsible for removing technical barriers to adoption and deployment of Windows 7 Pro/Enterprise, System Center Configuration Manager, and MDOP.

Tasks performed in support of this goal include:
Establish a clear view of the customer’s PC purchasing process: identifying procurement decision makers, purchase origination points (ex. branch locations), purchase policies, timelines, quantities, and channel.
Develop right-licensing education plan for key stakeholders in account’s PC purchase process.
Coordinate resources from Microsoft (STU, DPE, MCS, BG), Customer IT, Local Partners, and PC OEM to facilitate a smooth purchase and implementation plan for Windows 7 and Optimized Desktop.
Build customer business case for specification of Genuine Windows 7 Pro on all future PC purchases through the Windows 7 Pro BOS Attach agreement.
Build customer business case for adoption of full Optimized Desktop through the Windows 7 Enterprise Enrollment agreement.

Required Skills:
Qualifications should include 10+ years combined experience in IT market and selling to, through, or in partnership with OEM and local IT system integrators. A successful track record of exceeding revenue goals and a solid understanding of Microsoft technologies and strategic direction or a solid understanding of alternative solutions and the ability to quickly gain solid understanding of Microsoft technologies, solutions, and business value is crucial.

Business value/solution selling.
- Ability to work with an account team to architect a buying vision around Microsoft solutions that solve affordability challenges.
- Established record in sales and marketing, preferably with expertise in MSSP, and Siebel.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Operational excellence in managing a pipeline, revenue forecasting and conducting account/forecast reviews.
- BA/BS required. Master’s degree in Business Administration or Computer Science desired.

Recommended Qualifications
- Experience with large organization IT purchasing process.
- Experience with OEM sales process.

For PSG focused WCSS positions only: Experience working with government or public sector business. This individual must have the proven ability to establish relationships at all levels and must be seen as a strategic advisor on technology and business solutions. Project management experience with virtual teams & RFP responses in a highly independent but collaborative environment.
