ABOUT YOUR ROLE
To lead the technology development in durables segment including but not limited to: 1) identifying new technical and marketing trends in durables segment; 2) searching and developing cutting edge technology that could have a significant impact to the durables innovation/product pipeline; 3) expand the business beyond labeling and develop packaging/labeling total solutions to electronics industry; 4) build a technical network both internally and externally to expedite the innovation execution speed; 5) help build the R&D team in China into a world class center of excellence in labeling and packaging.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
? Maintain and enhance the core technology platform which is essential to the durables business;
? Lead the development of the engineered portfolio and help establish a leadership position for the durables business;
? Spearhead the technology development for the 5-year pipeline by championing new technologies into durables business;
? Serve as a center of technology and technical solutions and recommendations to the innovation team;
? Serve as a partner to the BDM in new opportunity exploration and be a champion in ideation activities.
WHAT WE WILL BE LOOKING FOR IN YOU:
? Extensive technical leadership experiences in labeling or packaging industry;
? In-depth knowledge in RFID and NFC;
? Broad and in-depth expertise in materials science and engineering relevant to labeling including PSA, films, coatings and also converting technology;
? Understand the landscape and future trends of labeling and packaging technology;
? Creative;
? Successful tracking records of delivering innovative products;
? Familiar with the electronics industry and telecommunication industry;
? Biased towards action;
? A good communicator able to translate sophisticated concept into real products;
? Good at interfacing with customers and end users and good at conducting VOC interviews to gain insights of un-met needs;
? Self starter, self driven and also a good collaborative team player;
? Passionate on new technology and a forward-looking thinker.
EDUCATION:
? Ph.D. in chemical engineering or material science with focus in polymer science and engineering; MS of similar technical background is acceptable with extensive industry R&D experiences
