? Implementation of relevant security-standards and procedures on national level in order to establish an appropriate and permanent level of protection for business activities in China and to achieve compliance with regard to local legislation.
? Coordination of timely and appropriate first responses in case of security-related incidents, product crime cases, emergencies - incl. their reporting.
? Implementation of procedures and coordination of activities to continuously improve the level of information protection within the legal entities in China;
? Coordination of event and conference security for relevant activities;
? Implementation of procedures and coordination of activities to protect products, production areas, warehouses, secure transportation routes;
? Maintaining dialogue and continuous communication with associations, authorities, partner companies and other relevant parties on strategic and operational security topics (incl. participation on domestic or regional level with those organizations, associations and governmental functions whose purposes are to prevent, detect and pursue product related criminal action);
? Participation in and holding of trainings, seminars, workshops (as appropriate) in order to extent the knowledge on security-topics, product crime, counter-measures and risk-based approaches in accordance to the local risks;
? Realization of external / 3rd party security-audits - on request by the CSO;

Personal requirements / qualification:
? Profound knowledge of security management, product crime and related strategies with a solid background of a minimum of 10 years working experience in that area. An advanced university degree in security-management or equal.
? Understanding of forensic aspects and the ability to focus on structured approaches, e.g. to run investigations and analysis of complex information.
? Ability to apply technical skills to understand and consolidate the varying specializations in security management, such as IT (security), communications, pharmaceuticals, diversion of chemicals and other sophisticated topics encountered. Experiences in project-management and project leadership are an asset.
? Proven communication and interpersonal, intercultural skills to actively represent Merck's security interests towards internal business representatives and at law enforcement authorities and other officials.
? Ability to deal effectively with stress factor when encountered in security management.
? Excellent knowledge of English and Chinese language (oral and written) and ability to speak and write clearly.
? The willingness to cooperate with other domestic functions on national level and with headquarter is a precondition including the ability to work cooperatively with the objective to achieve organizational goals.
