Responsibilities:

Provides tangible market intelligence reports to support BU management on day-to-day decision-making:
Pricing forecast: Provides input and base assumptions for short term price outlook which is being used as the basis for pricing guidelines
Market outlook: Develops monthly market outlook to support sales and operations with background information on short-term and long-term industry outlook for BU related products to support and improve forecasting
Supply & Demand Balance: Provides overview on supply / demand balance for BU key markets including monitoring of competitor capacity outages
Manages consultancy services (market report purchasing, contracts, ...) based on directional steering by SBU Market Intelligence / Business Strategy
Develops and maintains a comprehensive historical & forecasted database for BU scope based on directional steering by SBU Market Intelligence
Serves ad-hoc request from SBU and BU management team on market and competitive intelligence
Provides in-depth market intelligence for BUs and SBU regarding specificities of the regional market (Americas, Europe, Middle East or Asia).
Supports SBU Market Intelligence on the development of intelligence studies and mid-term business scenarios for investment planning and business development decisions and long term strategy preparation by providing BU specific market expertise

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Chemical Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, Finance
5-7 years of experience in the industrial / surfactants environment, with a good understanding of ethoxylates, ethanolamines, and other ethylene oxide derivatives plus the associated value chain
3-5 years' experience in similar positions in the surfactants / ethylene and propylene oxide derivative industry or consulting
Thorough understanding of surfactant industry both upstream and downstream, customers, markets and competitors adapted to the very diverse portfolio of the Business Unit
Ability to build-up market intelligence for products, applications, markets and customers outside current COMPANY product portfolio
Ability to independently conduct high-performing analysis and generate meaningful insights to steer Business Unit decision-making
Sound understanding of key business and strategic planning processes and portfolio management process
Influencing skills to communicate with Business Unit Management Team
