Job description
- Research and development of powertrain components of electric vehicles, focus: gear for mechanical transmission
- Evaluation of EV powertrain system, topologies and subsystems
- Evaluation and reporting about emerging technologies and technological trends in China
- Collaboration with internal and external partners (Chinese OEMs and universities)
Required knowledge competencies and attributes
- Master degree or Ph.D (highly preferred) in mechanical / automotive engineering
- At least 3 yrs (preferred: 5 yrs) research/development experience (including the period of Ph.D education) in automotive gearboxes at a university or in the CN automotive industry
- Preferred: experience in reducer gear design/analysis and relevant software (e.g. UG, ANSYS, ...)
- Knowledge about powertrains of Hybrid / Electric Vehicles, preferred: experience in integration of gears and electric motor, in-wheel-drive systems
- Strong analytical skills
- Self-motivated team-worker
- Ability to work independently and systematically
- Ability to develop new concepts and plans for development work, experience in project work
- Good communication skills in English (oral and written), good presentation skills, German a plus but not required
