Objectives
The R&D Center in Shanghai has all competences needed in the development of new products and maintenance of existing products.

We have a testing laboratory for small appliances in Shanghai, which supports the Global product development within Floor Care & Small Appliances.
The laboratory incorporates testing of small appliances, such as fully automated espresso machines, coffee machines, food processors, mixers, irons, etc.

Key operational responsibilities
As SDA Engineer your main tasks will be to;

- Be responsible for performance tests of small appliances, e,g food processors, coffee maker, fabric care products...
- Judge the ergonomics and general handling/operation of a product and the logic behind
- Check instructions for use and do corresponding adjustments and/or additions
- Plan the lab activities and time required for the tests
- Order or buy the required materials for the tests (e.g. food, vegetables, etc)
- Own work in lab/test execution
- Test according to IEC standards, national regulations and normal household use
- Evaluate test results and create new solutions and improvements.

Reporting to
You will report to the Team leader of the SDA lab.

Competencies needed

- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical/Electronic Engineering or similar knowledge level.
- Creative and pro-active in translating knowledge from testing into proposals for improvements.
- Several years of experience in small appliances (especially for motor-driven appliance or fabric care products) evaluating/verification or testing.
- Basic safety knowledge.
- Ability to deal with international test standards.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and presentations).
- Strong capabilities to communicate with management and colleagues in the own product organization, as well as external suppliers, testing institutes and service centers.
- Organized and a structured way of working.
- Team player.
- Attracted by working in a multinational environment with different cultures.
- Prepared to travel (national and international)
