职位描述

The Product Manager role is a strategic role within the Business Unit and provides individuals with ownership of a specific Product Line within the Business Unit. Individuals in this role are responsible for driving the organic growth and profitability of the Business Unit AND the new product development roadmap to deliver the growth goals of the Business Unit.


Essential Functions

Strategic planning
Co-leads the company strategic planning process; develops a strategic framework for assigned product line and provide guidance on development and execution of the plan.
Responsible for overall results of assigned product line or business portfolio, including products, revenue in whole and by products, pricing and profit. Identifying and executing actions; Actively and effectively manages existing portfolio, including, pricing, phase-out, product enhancements, including sales, margin, volume, inventory, F/X and converting analysis in to key takeaways and actions, etc.
Owns the prioritization, understanding, and delivery of margin opportunities across the product line (including pricing, cost reduction, and quality improvement)
Owns product line Action Plan and Counter Measures related to Policy Deployment, including, driving to root cause, assisting / challenging countermeasures and action plans, etc.; leads policy deployment activities for the product line.
Leads the development of the business unit policy deployment and Key Performance Indicators.
Leads creation, execution and analysis of VOC plans; links prioritized customer needs in price/performance on product lines with focus on future product requirements including enhancements and break through.
Champions the business unit to internal customers, including the marketing team, sales force; provides visibility to key opportunities in the sales funnels for the business portfolio.
Communicates and enlists support for the vision of the business unit and organization; demonstrates leadership in the achievement of the organization objectives.
Champions DBS within the business unit including Initiating meaningful and sustainable kaizen events to achieve the business unit objectives.

Other Non-Essential Functions

Teaches others to use the Danaher Development System system and plays a critical role reviewing tollgate documents; proactively identifies any issues in keeping the project moving forward and coaches the team through managing.
Participates in development of business unit plan and product roadmap that addresses customer segments, broader market trends and company needs.
Works with the applications manager to identify, prioritize, define, and commercialize possible applications
Training the sales channel and internal customers in selected products (more application experience, more value to the customer, etc.)
Performs other duties as required.

Education, Background and Skill Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a technical or business field, MBA preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years experience in product development or business management, have chemical education background preferred
Able to understand customers needs and execute VOC
Operating understanding of Product and Application technology
Effective personal time management and ability to manage multiple tasks
Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
Effective personal and project team time management
Thorough understanding of the customer segments and product applications for business unit's products. (more of a portfolio view) Understanding of trends impacting the product line.
Thorough understanding of the channel for a product line. Understanding of sales by channel for product line and opportunities to leverage strengths to drive additional sales.
Utilize project management skills. Comprehending the critical elements of a project. Converting these skills into more rapid product development.
