JOBDESCRIPTION
Processor silicon interface functional and electrical validation manager. In this role, this manager will lead a highly technical team thatdevelops test plans, completes functional & electrical validation, &debugs issues for new processor silicon interface features interfaces includingDDR, Hypertransport, & Misc I/O in addition to functional validation &debug of CPU power management features. This team does the initial bring-up ofnew CPU’s & will work closely with the CPU validation teams plus platformdesign, silicon design, & BIOS teams to define the appropriate platformfeatures & test plans for silicon validation, will also be very engaged inthe debug of electrical & functional issues discovered as part of CPUvalidation, particularly in the areas for DDR & power management.
SKILLS REQUIRED
1) BS-EE / BS-CE / Masters plus at least 10years directly related experience. An advanced degree will be considered aplus.
2)At least 3 years of progressive management experience in a in a large, fastpaced environment.
3) Requires experience and demonstrated technical expertise in the development& execution of Client System platform level electrical & functionaltest plans, DDR2/3Memory, PCIx/PCIe or Hyper Transport Bus test experience on electroniccomponents such as uProcessors would be considered a big plus.
4) Requires experience and demonstrated technical expertise in the debug ofprocessor & PC platform I/O interfaces, such as DDR & Hyper Transport.
5) Demonstrated experience with or knowledge using oscilloscopes, readingschematics and layout documentation, and MS Windows and Officeapplications.
6)Experience in software development including using languages such as Perl &Ruby to be used in silicon validation test plan development & execution
7) Requires good written and oral communication skills. Demonstratethe ability to communicate with a variety of engineering disciplines andmanagement.
8)A self-starter who is proactive and considers it his/her responsibility toensure the integrity of the team’s commitments to the program, company and itscustomers
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
1) Lead 15+ member team to execute electrical & functional test plans forCompany processors using hardware & software validation tools,oscilloscopes, & logic analyzers.
2)Interface with the Marketing, Silicon design, Software, and Validation teams todefine our platforms for new silicon, work as part of a global team in a highlyvisible role as part of the fastest growth region within Company.
3)Manage work assignments and coordinate results globally, be responsible forbuilding and motivating a high performance team as well as developing keyrelationships with OEM/ODM customers
4)Review and approve electrical & functional test plans for the processorinterface validation of processors
5)Provide instruction to debug electrical & functional issues for newprocessors
5) Provides detailedinput into the platform definition & review of platform designs used in thesilicon validation of new processors.
7) Provides technical guidance and training to less experienced engineers andtechnicians in the planning, test, & debug processor validation
6)Provide leadership for the team, keeping track and planning of projects,individual assignments, working with other departments, and presenting status.
7)Reviews and provides appropriate allocation of funds for department expenditureand meets the approved budget range. Demonstrates capability in controllingjustified expenses and shows commitment in meeting the budget.
