Introduction to the department
Procurement represents more than 60% of the total value in our field development projects and as such has very large impact on the overall project success. The procurement department has three main areas of responsibility, Procurement, Material Control and Logistics. Kværner has in addition to being a market leader in the Norwegian oil and gas market also been awarded significant international projects. Personnel working in the procurement department may achieve international experience by working with international suppliers and international assignments. Procurement is responsible for all major supplies when developing new oil and gas fields. As an employee in Kværner you will have unique opportunity to be part of a procurement team with the opportunity to impact the projects overall cost, execution and risks. You will be challenged to think along new lines, explore new markets and perform negotiations of major contracts. You will be able to use your competence in a broad and creative way, cooperate across disciplines and cultures, and continuously develop your skills.
Responsibilities and tasks
Prepare and issue procurement “enquiries” for supply to our projects
Plan and develop procurement plans in order to secure timely deliveries, correct quality in accordance with agreed budget and schedule
Ensure that all activities related to the procurement work are performed according to established procedures and guidelines and business policy for procurement
Cooperation and planning of relevant activities together with Procurement Management, Project Engineers and other disciplines
· Follow-up, control and report of procurement progress on deliverables. Including monitoring of supplier progress according to schedule and field expediting
Select suppliers and develop and maintain supplier relations
Negotiate contracts and purchase orders
Ensure technical and commercial awareness in the procurement processes
Qualifications & personal attributes
Bachelor degree
Experience as a Senior Buyer
Negotiations skills, including contract negotiations
Fluent in written and spoken English
Multi-discipline understanding and commercial skills
Team player
Customer focus
High integrity and ethical values
Innovative and creative mindset
Experience from work abroad and the offshore/oil & gas industry is an advantage
Experience required: 5 - 7 Years
The position will include travelling
