Our client is a reputable US Medical Device Company.
Reporting to Head of legal and Compliance Officer, Great China. The Trade Compliance and Contracts Manager owns the business processes for ensuring that US, Japanese, and other applicable trade restrictions are adhered to across the businesses operating in China. The TC & Contracts Manager will also lead the program to establish standard processes for the initiation and termination of contracts and order entry controls to validate contracts, This position will develop and manage the team to support these business processes.
The Trade Compliance & Contracts Manager must be able to motivate his or her own department and is also required to successfully lead group projects with members and stakeholders from a variety of functions and areas. There are a wide variety of activities involved in this position requiring excellent organizational skills and the ability to work and manage in a high energy, fast paced environment. A high degree of flexibility with the ability to respond to changing priorities is important.

Essential Job Functions and Accountabilities:
- Champion process and policy to realize 100% compliance with all global trade restrictions
- Ensure adequacy of processes to limit ability to quote or accept orders to only those customers who are not on foreign government denial lists
- Establish best practices for issuance of trade licenses, execution of contracts, customer application of duty exempt permits, etc
- Consult on above activities as needed, ensure follow through and efficiency
- Lead development of standard daily and weekly activities to audit controls for customer denial lists
- Audit contract terms and reinforce policy
- Manage projects necessary to support compliance – including development of system-based authorizations for contract exceptions, divisional customer list controls for quotation and ordering, etc
- Interface with US-based Global Trade Compliance leadership
- Develop and maintain relationships across multiple business units and functional areas to determine internal customer needs and establish open dialogue to quickly address issues
- Develop self and others with a balance of internal and external focus.
- Participate as a team member in all assigned corporate and divisional initiatives
Experience Qualifications:
- Strong role model leader with ability to influence decision makers and manage change
- Advanced project management skills
- Well-developed interpersonal and persuasive communications abilities
- Excellent analytical capability and problem solving skills
- Proven ability to develop and motivate people
- Knowledge of Global Trade Law and a willingness to continue learning
- Familiarity with business to business contracts
- Keen attention to details and strong organizational skills
- Experience with both direct and distribution selling environments is desired
- Ability to work in a team atmosphere and influence others to achieve results
