POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Business and Strategic Development
- Identify business growth opportunities with existing and new customers by creating new value propositions
- Account management of key customers
- Review "Step change" opportunities through acquisitions and changes in market demand
- Assess current network operations and make recommendations for optimization and mix of assets
Operational
- Seamless Integration of acquired business
- Lead the development and implementation of a best in class operational system, ensuring highly effective performance management
- Introduction of continuous improvement plans, controlling costs and improving efficiency
- Planning, executing, and monitoring the entire transportation process, create and modify least-cost shipment plans and loads that maximize capacity utilization
- Develop KPI reporting suite
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Management Qualities
- 3 years of experience of managing blue collar workers and drivers in mainland China
- Strong leader, charismatic and decisive
- Able to manage and work with nationals but also in an international team
- Capable of delegating both up and downwards
- The aptitude to build and sustain relationships with all stakeholders at levels of the business
Experience, Skills and Competencies
- Able to demonstrate commercial awareness
- Fluent in written and verbal Mandarin and English
- Numerate and IT literate in MS Windows and MS Office
- Have initiative and can work to strict deadlines
- High levels of drive and enthusiasm
- Strategic thinker with ability to be hands on
- Minimum 3 years work experience in the logistics and transportation market in China
- Proficient knowledge of freight rates and contracts with trucking/railroads/shipping liners, import/export documentations, customs regulations, and Incoterms in China
