Specific Accountabilities Essential to Acceptable Job Performance
- Build good relationship with customer and maintain constant contact.
- Keep customer informed on new products, service, pricing, change, etc.
- Provide monthly report covering monthly revenue and orders against budget, Project updates and forecasts.
- Sell products from both Shanghai plant and oversea into Pharmaceutical and Other Fine Chemical Industries to develop Johnson Matthey's CCT products market share in China.
- Analyze and investigate product technical performance and market needs (including that of the competition), propose product improvement and new product development.
- To open up new markets and promote JM products with great efforts, strengthen the ties with customers, visit old and potential customers regularly.
- Prepare and update technical documents like product brochure and sales handbook.
- Act a key customer contact for specification, scheduling and shipping.
- Responsible for implementation as soon as the contract has been signed, i.e., do the sales related coordination work to ensure the payment has been colleted upon the shipment for the purpose of collecting the payment and production turnover in the timely basis.
- Provide translation service to JM visitor and customers.
- Conduct and analyse market research studies to provide accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions.
- Plan, design, and execute market research studies; analyse the results; and write reports and recommendations so that senior managers can evaluate alternatives against the organisation's business objective.
- The purpose of studies may be to measure current, and forecast future, market activity and consumer trends; conduct primary consumer research; identify new market opportunities; analyse competitor activities; or evaluate the success of the organisation's marketing, advertising and sales compaigns.
- Collect, compile, verify, and analyse information from internal and external sources (for example, market, demographic, economic, and other financial data) in order to develop recommendations about the implications of alternative sales, market, and business development strategies.
- Maintain a database of market and competitor data as a source of accurate and up-to-date information for market studies.
- Prepare documents and materials (for example, reports, presentations, information packages) for meeting and negotiations with potential clients and business partners so that the information provided is accurate and appropriate for external distribution.
- Under general supervision, coordinate and provide technical marketing expertise for product promotions and marketing campaigns.
- Coordinate involvement in conference, exhibitions and marketing seminars.
Technical Support:
- Liaise with Catalyst development team to make catalyst recommendations to customers;
- Manage the sampling process and provide development updates and feedback to Catalyst global team;
- Assist customers in using products within their process and working through related production issues;
- Obtain a detailed understanding of Catalyst product range and give technical presentation to customers.
Job Requirement
- University Degree or above in Organic Chemistry (Synthesis orientated);
- Minimum 2 years sales experience in chemistry field, previous experience working in a research institute or a plant within a Pharma/fine chemical environment preferred; or working experience within a trading or representative office selling high tech products into the Pharma/Fine chemical industry
- Good knowledge of catalysis or hands-on experience with catalysts is a plus
- Good at English, both written and oral though candidates with strong technical/industrial experience may outweigh strong language skills;
- Strong communication, presentation and sales skills.
- Solve the problem independently, self-starter, enthusiasm & energetic.
- Customer-oriented, willing to travel, outgoing & high responsibility.
