The Account Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day activities and project management duties and assisting with the development of sponsorship strategy for Octagon's client. The Account Manager will have a high level of interaction with the client, their stakeholders and various Octagon teams in China and across the Asia Pacific Region.
The Account Manager will be supporting the Account Director on project management with managing approval processes, budgets, VIP events, sponsorship rights delivery, and asset allocation and planning. The Account Manager will also assist AD and other senior staff to innovate ideas, to improve existing and new programs for the client.
You should possess excellent time and people management skills and have an eye for details and a flair for presentations (written, PowerPoint and verbal skills). The position requires cost management responsibility for monitoring account/event budgets.
The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational, cross-function communications and negotiation skills, solid know-how in event planning and execution, and industry background of sponsorship or entertainment will be a plus but not must.
Key responsibilities include:
- Report to the Account Director, help manage the operational level of the team and be the day-to-day contact for the client
- Manage projects/ activations, monitor projects progress to meet delivery deadlines.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders (sister agencies/merchants/vendors/ promoters/venue) to make sure high-quality delivery of project/activation contents
- Prepare proposals/ final reports for projects/activations
Desired Skills & Experience
- 6-8 years' experience in PR project management/marketing/agency, with at least 2-3 years in supervisory role.
- Solid experience in project/event management, including concept development, budgeting, planning and execution
- Strong interest/ connection in the local entertainment/ cultural field are highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
- Proactive, able to work under pressure.
