Overview:

The Bentley Asia legal department supports an organisation with more than 200 employees in fifteen locations around Asia. The department provides assistance to the business operations of the Bentley Asia Operating Unit on matters ranging from contract negotiation to intellectual enforcement to strategic acquisitions. The Legal Assistant will report directly to the Asia Legal Counsel and work as part of the global Bentley legal department headed by the Corporate General Counsel in the United States.

Responsibilities:

· Organizing and ensuring compliance with local rules and regulations with respect to Asia subsidiary shareholder meetings, board of directors appointments, coordination with the finance department regarding approvals of annual accounts, and other company secretarial matters;
· Reviewing and preparing contracts;
· Assisting in the coordination, supervision and review of the work of outside legal counsel throughout the region;
· Drafting of correspondence and other documents; and
· Providing general administrative support for the Asia Legal Counsel.

Qualifications:

· Fluent in English; Mandarin fluency is a plus;
· Excellent communication and writing skills;
· Working experience as a lawyer, legal assistant, paralegal or contracts administrator;
· University degree (law or a related discipline preferred)
· Familiarity with general company compliance rules in one or more jurisdiction;
· Strong research skills;
· Familiarity with software and high tech industries;
· Well-organized, detail-oriented and professional;
· Ability to exercise judgment and work independently within defined practices and policies;
· Ability to work closely with sales staff and management, customers, finance, administration and other internal departments;
· Interest in actively working in a very dynamic and rapidly growing environment.
