Data Engineer

Job Description

Working Location: Beijing, China

IPC S&OP Software team is seeking an exceptional Data Engineer to join our Beijing office and perform data analysis and build business metrics to support. In this role you will be responsible for working with different departments from Our company Retail, our company Supply Chain globally, collecting and analyzing data using data-warehouse and other state-of-the-art technologies, identifying problems in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, and make recommendation to improve and expand business. You will also lead and coordinate, you will interface with people from different functionalities, including retail control buyers, supply chain analysts, operation research scientists, software development engineers, technical program managers and software development managers. You will be expected to make appropriate tradeoffs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals, roles, responsibilities, and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional and remote project teams. This is a high-impact space packed with challenging problems involving very complex systems and smart people - our system applies to solve the problems for the labor planning/capacity planning of all the Fulfillment Centers(FC) in Our company globally, which is significantly impacting the customer experiences and the efficiency of FC operations.

The right candidate will possess strong data analysis skills and abilities to simplify and innovate. You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities. Maturity, high judgment, ability to influence, analytical talent, self-starter and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Responsibilities:

? Work with various staff members of all levels both Tech and Business teams to better understand core business processes and operational needs.

? Work closely with the team to build more reports and metrics using a data warehouse.

? Build and maintain routine and ad-hoc operation reports.

? Research and guidance for improving the data accuracy and automation rate.

? Design and implement reporting data sources and complex reports.

? Design and implement appropriate data modeling and statistical techniques to develop real world business solutions.

? Continuously perform research, analysis and forecasting to find new ways to improve operation processes and cut cost.

Basic Qualifications

? A BS or MS in a quantitative or related field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics

? 2+ years related work experience in Business Intelligence analysis and reporting.

? Fluency in English, both written and verbal

? Demonstrated strong working knowledge of SQL.

? Proficient understanding of ETL tools and processes.

? Design and implement reporting data sources and complex reports.

? Demonstrate Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong customer focus and demonstrated ability to work in geographically dispersed teams.

Preferred Qualifications

? Fluency and comfort with business applications such as Excel and Word is a plu
