Title:Senior System Engineer - Personalization Platform

Our Personalization Platform Group is developing the most leading technology in the industry, to deliver personalized media experience to our users. It allows our Frontpage, Our News, our Finance and all our products to deliver different contents to different users based on their interests, their gender, location, and their behavior on Internet. This is both an engineering challenge and a science challenge. We're looking for world-class, challenge-loving engineers to join our team!
Key Responsibilities
The candidate should be able to comprehend existing systems, propose/implement recommendation for improving overall design, scalability and modularity of the system, as well as carry over learning in building our next generation systems without compromising the functional capabilities. The engineers would work in a very agile working model, together with other engineers, researchers, product manager in scrum teams, to design and develop product and system features.
Minimum Requirements
? BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, academic knowledge of Computer Science (algorithms, data structures, etc.)
? Proficient in Java/C++
? Solid skills in at least one script language like shell script, perl, python, etc.
? Skill in Linux/Unix programming, tools and utilities
? Understanding distributed system or real-time serving system or large data processing system or database or hadoop
? Experience in the area of multi-process/thread programming, scalable architecture, performance analysis and tuning
? Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to make engineering assessment to fill in the gaps
? Experience with full life cycle (design, implementation, testing, releasing and sustaining) of a large project
? Adequate oral English communication, precise reading and writing in Chinese and English
Preferred Job Qualifications
? Experience in recommendation, advertisement or search systems
? Experience with information retrieval systems
? Experience with cloud computing/distributed computing
? Excellent understanding on statistical methods used in data modeling for user behavior and interests
? Excellent understanding of machine learning and data mining algorithms
? Fluent oral English and communication skills
