职位描述
1. Purpose
This position is to provide assistance to the Director, Intellectual Property, and Asia on IP issues and the procurement of intellectual property ('IP') rights, for assisting with the protection of IP from misappropriation by others and for defending freedom-to-operate with respect to the IP rights of other parties in China.
2. Duties & Responsibilities (By Category and %)
Provide advice and assistance to the IP, Asia and to Business Units with respect to IP issues in?Director, China. (10%)
Assist the Director, IP, Asia in quality of patent and trademark applications drafted locally?supervising the in China. In particular ensuring that company names and descriptions of goods are properly translated into Chinese. (30%)
Assist Business Units in China ?in implementing policies, procedures and best practices for identifying and protecting their IP and complying with applicable local laws and regulations. (10%)
Provide regular IP training and updates to technical personnel to make them aware of the?information importance of IP and their roles in generating and disclosing inventions. (20%)
?Assist Business Units with the harvesting of Invention Disclosures from R&D teams in China and ensuring that those Invention Disclosures are submitted for review by the Business Unit's IP Committee. (20%)
Support investigations into other IP infringement in?counterfeiting and Asia, including follow-up action by law enforcement, customs and other local authorities. (10%)
3. Policy Making / Decision Making Responsibilities
1 Decisions are made through standard operating procedures. Limits decision through instructions from superior.
2 Follows established routine. Some analysis is being exercised. Decisions are made out of available guidelines or precedents.
3 Assignments are received in the form of results expected, but there is freedom to decide on the procedures to follow.
4 Assignments are in the form of broad goals. There is broad latitude for decision making. Complex decisions / analysis are being made. Innovations and flexibility is being exercised.
4. Monetary Responsibility (budget and /or revenue)
5. Qualifications and Experience
Must:
? Bachelor or above degree of Science, Engineering or Physical Sciences
? Minimum 5 years relevant working experience, including the management of an international IP portfolio
? Excellent technical, communication (written and oral), presentation, inter-personal and analytical skills, as well as accuracy and attention to detail.
? Good English & Mandarin in reading, spoken and written
? Basic knowledge of patent and trademark laws and procedures worldwide, and more detailed knowledge of patent and trademark laws, procedures and IP enforcement in China
Preferred:
? Law Degree
? Experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications
