The company:
Our client is a leading manufacturer of high precision instruments for automotive mechanical engineering and industrial goods industry with a strong focus on quality. A family owned company from Germany with over 120 years history, the company is active in over 50 countries worldwide with around 6000 employees. The first Chinese production facility was opened almost 20 years ago and is still located in the same location near Shanghai. For this entity in Taicang they are now seeking a new Head of Business Unit to manage all commercial activities for the market China.
Your mission and task:
You will be responsible for the overall management of one of the company's Business Units in China, including full P&L responsibility. Your mission will be to define goals to establish and increase further business with new customer groups and existing automotive customers for your Business Unit. To create a strong, sustainable organization your task is to develop and lead a highly pro-active and productive team. Setting high standards and goals for the sales and marketing team, managing smooth collaboration and communication with other departments and BUs in China will be the keys for success. Furthermore, your role will be to represent and bring the company's brand to a higher level on the Chinese market.
Your profile:
You have experience in managing a product group, division, or a business unit in China including strategic marketing and sales within the automotive industry. Ideally you have a start-up experience with the sense for new business development and marketing. You have more than 15+ years of working experience of which at least 5 years of senior management role leading more than 50 workforces. Developing leaders and improving sales activities are your passion and strength. Your professional background can be business development, marketing or regional sales from the automotive industry. You have strong analytical skills and have a proven record of managing P&L. Fluency in Mandarin and English in both writing and speaking are mandatory.
