Job Description
Directs, supervises, and coordinates the various clinical and administrative activities in the clinic site ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of quality patient care. Reports directly to the Division Assistant Director and indirectly to the Sites Lead Physician.
MAJOR WORK ACTIVITIES:
1. Supervision of all office personnel in accordance with overall health system and other regulatory requirements. Recruits, hires and supervises personnel with input from physicians and administration as appropriate.
2. Coordinates physician/provider work activities with staff schedules and ensures that office space, supplies and assistance are provided and maintained appropriately for medical staff and patient care. Approves overtime, time off, and tracks attendance.
3. Coordinates site activities with departmental and practice areas and external agencies, communicating with other Managers and Directors as appropriate and necessary.
4. Works closely with Shanghai Director to ensure that site operations and relations are effective and consistent with our Shanghai clinic. Communicates with Shanghai Director in a timely manner, keeping him/her informed of issues and concerns.
5. Attends/conducts required meetings and participates in professional developmental activities as decided jointly by administration. Performs projects and duties as related to Division objectives.
6. Adapts to changing environment and engages in flexible problem solving behavior and conflict resolution. Demonstrates resourcefulness.
7. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures, both clinical and administrative.
2. Knowledge of registration, scheduling, cashiering and coding functions to ensure efficiency and total quality patient care.
3. Knowledge of areas of Medical Terminology and insurance plans, and office cash payment policies and procedures.
4. Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.
5. Skill in developing and maintaining departmental quality assurance, improvement, and process improvement.
6. Skill in establishing and maintaining relationships with patients, staff and the public.
7. Knowledge and understanding of teamwork and team orientation. Skill in accomplishing tasks through managing others and cooperation with peers.
8. Skill in budgetary process.
9. Skill in computers and filing. Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written.
10. Ability to evaluate and appropriately respond to verbal and nonverbal communication from patients diverse stages of development, i.e. pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.
11. Physical skills and abilities sufficient for sitting, standing or walking for extended periods of time, occasionally lifting files or equipment up to 50 pounds. Manual and visual dexterity sufficient to operate calculator, computer keyboard and other office equipment as necessary.
12. Physical job demands may be subject to possible modifications to reasonably accommodate individuals with disabilities.
