Tasks:

- Working as part of the Servo Drive Products team

- Work in conjunction with R&D teams in China and Germany, to support PLC open automation library development

- Write supporting documentation such as help files and application notes

- Design and run related verification testing for ABB PLCs with Servo Motion products Including

- Visit customers when necessary to understand applications and aid library quality improvements

Requirements (must have):

- Bachelors or master’s degree in: Electrical / Instrumentation, Electronics engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field.

- Strong experience of controllers, motion drives and servo motors (including knowledge of CAMs, gearing etc.)

- Technical knowledge of motion control, servo drives & motor, PLC & HMI, encoders, sensors etc. Including established brands, Siemens/Omron/Innovance or others using CoDeSys environment.

- Basic Knowledge of black and white box testing and comfortable with test case/test scenario development for ensuring test coverage

- Ability to maintain systems and programs by identifying and reporting defects.

- Onsite testing support via remote support / onsite visits when necessary

- Ability to understand and interpret rough user design and end user specification into usable program functions with sufficient flexibility.

- Good English communication skills essential (reading and writing)

- Quick learner and team player

- Good communication Skills

Requirements (good to have):

- Total working experience >5 years

- Drive and Motion Control (Servo Drives) background, preferably on system level

- Good understanding of different types of mechanical systems such as Industry experience in Packaging / Metals / Paper / Battery or suitable applications.

- Knowledge of C Sharp and all IEC 61131-3 programming languages (strong ST =structured text knowledge is preferred).

- Experience of industry standards such as DS 402, PLCopen, etc.

- Experience of Microsoft office (especially MS Teams and OneNote)
