This role requires the Application of Mobile Core (4G/5G) experience and know-how to
swiftly identify and resolve technical issues and remove technical barriers in VIAVI
Solutions customer environments using TeraVM products. TeraVM is used to test and
validate customer network topologies, systems and devices by generating control and
user plane traffic, emulating 4G and 5G VRAN and Core nodes. Statistics and key
performance indicators are provided to validate the functionality and performance of RAN
and Core systems under test. Primary markets are Network Equipment Manufacturers,
Service Providers and Major Enterprise and Government organisations.
Major Responsibilities
? Be the key link between product line and Greater China (GC) sales team for
technical solutions for key customers
o Applying knowledge and experience of Mobile Core (4G/5G) to provide
test scenarios to validate highly complex protocol interactions across all
mobile network generations
o Developing scenarios that clearly demonstrates the power of the TeraVM
product offering
o Meeting and exceeding customer requirements and helping to build and
maintain key customer relationships
? Installation and commissioning of TeraVM software to standard platforms and
cloud environments
? Be the domain expert to VIAVI’s field engineering and customer base in effective
use of TeraVM product framework.
? Devising and delivering technical training across the internal and external
customer base
? Support new product and features introduction to the GC FAE team and help the
team build up competence
? Undertake Systems Engineering, debugging and diagnosis of issues on bare
metal and cloud-based platforms
? Work closely with VIAVI Solutions Wireless Engineering and Product
Management teams
o Advocate for customers across a cross-functional organization
o Help qualify feature requests and architect solutions
? Build and help maintain technical relationships and thought leadership with key
customers
Qualifications
? Technical Degree and/or equivalent practical experience
? Strong demonstrable knowledge of 4G and 5G Network topologies, protocols,
components and architectures (Including SBA and O-RAN) as defined by 3GPP
used by mobile operators and network equipment manufacturers
? Knowledge of L4-L7 Application protocols, OSI Model and routing and switching
protocols
? Analytical approach to problem solving with practical and proven trouble-shooting
skills
? Practical Experience in Linux Operating Systems
? Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills (external
customer facing and internal)
? Ability to handle competing priorities and parallel activities
? Willingness and ability to work on own initiative to become a key member of the
Subject Matter Expert team
? Flexibility to domestic travel may be required.
Desirable Qualifications
? Experience in working with Virtualizations technologies such as:
o KVM, ESXI, Docker, Container and Kubernetes Private and Public Cloud
- AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP
? Mobile RAN knowledge - service procedures relating to UE, RAN and Core
components
? Experience of O-RAN deployments and (CU, DU, and RIC) technologies would
be advantageous
