Job Summary
The Asia Pacific Project Manager Team Leader is responsible for execution and team management throughout the life cycle of focused Networks & Security Services engagements with our valued customers. The Project Manager Team
Leader will manage a team of Project Managers while also managing on individual projects for key customers. Mentoring skills are critical in ensuring that all team members are successful in completing their assigned projects and service accounts. These project managers are accountable for successfully planning, controlling, and managing project deliverables to ensure that the Network and Security Service’s program and portfolio expectations are met.
Potential candidates should have the capability to perform the following:
Supervises all aspects of project management functions for services delivery projects, including procurement, labor planning and managing timelines and cost.
Assists team of project managers to achieve project expectations including milestone dates, budget forecasts, resource scheduling, and vendor/partner contracts. Reviews and approves all project estimates.
Apply complex and advanced project management and scheduling techniques during review of projects to help PMs identify issues before they impact project expectations.
Responsible for the team’s compliance with PMO standards & methodologies and development processes.
Typically supervises up to 5-10 project management professionals and project analysts
Provides key summary and readouts to business stakeholders in a timely manner at Asia Pacific and global level.
Proactively interfaces with all peer levels of business – Portfolio, Commercial, Pre-Sales, Delivery and Services
Responsible for coaching and development of direct reports to continually grow the project management maturity level.
Coordinates activities with support teams, business owners and other Network and Security Services and internal stakeholders.
Supports the need for change by promoting programs, strategies and initiatives set by the PMO.
Leads efforts of project personnel on complex projects.
Participate in process improvement activities within the PMO as requested
Coaches and helps develop less-experienced project managers assigned to projects. On-boards new hires assigned to team.
Assists delivery manager with resource planning: assignments for team members.
Works with direct reports to address training needs and functional gaps within the team.
Creates an environment conducive to successful team interaction.
Responsible for delivering project expectations and holding individual PMs accountable for driving those results.
Responsible for following all applicable corporate, company, governmental and regulatory policies and procedures as appropriate for this position.
Minimum Qualifications / Skill Set:
BS in Engineering discipline or equivalent knowledge; Minimum of 5 years of experience in a project management role
PMP certified
Experience leading or managing efforts directly related to multimillion dollar projects / global customers.
Knowledge of industry, application, or technology relevant to industrial automation controls and OT Network and Cybersecurity infrastructure
Demonstrated ability to work in a stressful environment where constructive feedback from others is encouraged
Demonstrated success at simultaneously managing multiple complex engineered projects/contracts
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict effectively.
Must be able to travel up to 50%, including industrial plants, vender offices and remote Rockwell Automation offices around the world
Capable of working with remote team members and stakeholders
Desirable Qualifications:
Previous team or large program management experience
MBA or further education in business administration, operations, or project management
Extensive design and implementation experience in the Operations Technology (OT) space / Industrial Networks and Cybersecurity
Experience with Rockwell Automation offerings in Lifecycle cycle services
