Primary Responsibilities
Business Analysis – Reporting, Planning, and Data Analysis
1. Build MIS (Management Information System) for China Operations to enable effective and efficient operation planning and management.
2. Establish, maintain, improve, and update database of Operation department; build data dictionary; write manual for database operations.
3. Define and clarify business rules and calculation logic of various reports.
4. Use data visualization tool (such as Tableau) to develop reporting templates and regularly present performance data and production data of Operation department.
5. Set up and maintain various tools such as staffing model / utilization model by using data techniques. Utilize these tools to facilitate operation planning and management.
6. Help on data and performance reports to country and regional management.
7. Conduct data analysis to identify problems and improvement opportunities in operation work.
8. Help project managers and operation teams to do data related work, such as data mapping, data cleaning, and data migration.
Operation Analysis
1. Lead / participate in process mapping and reengineering of business and operation processes.
2. Evaluate impact brought by process change and support design, development and delivery of change management activities such as training and communication.
3. Guide operation staffs to prepare and update operation documents such as SOP (Standard Operation Procedure) and FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) to ensure consistency of operation activities.
4. Lead operation staffs to perform training and coaching to employees, monitor trainees’ learning curves, conduct regular briefings to explain special operation cases, clarify difficult knowledge points and facilitate best practice sharing among team members.
5. Help build, update and maintain various tools (such as skill matrix, competency tracker, benefit tracking report, BCP – Business Continuity Plan, and etc.).
6. Continuously identify improvement opportunities to raise operation efficiency and capacity and enhance operation quality. Carry out action plans to implement improvements and drive staffs’ behavioural change to make sure that improvements can be sustained.
Requirements and Minimum Education Level
1. Bachelor in appropriate field of study.
Experience
1. Minimum 3 years of working experience as a BA in Operations, Technology, or Data Analysis.
2. Minimum 3 years of working experience in a large corporate environment, MNC in financial industry preferred.
3. Detailed understanding of insurance or broking insurance is a plus.
Skills
1. Fluent in spoken and written English
2. Proficient in using data tools such as Access, SQL, Excel VBA, Tableau, and Power BI is highly preferred
3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong interpersonal skills
4. Able to absorb extensive information in short timeframe, analyse, extract essence and draw conclusions
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
6. Self-driven and able to work under limited guidance and instruction
7. Attention to details and multitasking skills
8. Flexibility and adaptability to perform in a high-volume, fast paced and dynamic environment
