Job Description:
An Electrical Engineer learns the practical application of engineering principals and achieves expertise in Electrical Engineering as part of a team. The Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing electrical product/subsystem release solutions.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
Designing the following electrical components and interconnects: digital, analog, power supply, motion control and tuning solutions
Engaging in hardware lifecycle management, including solutions to obsolescence, verification of design solutions, improvement of manufacturing process, and cost out opportunities
Engaging in all phases of new product introduction: concept, architecture, documentation, design, prototype, test, supplier interfaces, manufacturing introduction and service support
Identifying and developing new opportunities to leverage Strategic Sourcing objectives and Common Technology initiatives
Ensuring reliability, performance and delivery through supplier relationships
Writing detailed functional specifications that document newly created designs and support product introduction
Working cross-functionally with engineering teams to understand system interactions and dependencies; account for these integration points within development plan
Providing technical support to team throughout product development and implementation process
Testing and verifying hardware to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, by recording and analyzing test data.
Capturing electrical design schematics using an ECAD system
Reviewing and approving layout done on ECAD systems
Selecting hardware and material, assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements. Working with technology suppliers and cross-functional staff to optimize hardware designs
Quality Specific Goals:
Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Support compliance/closure of Regulatory and Quality requirements before completing Design Outputs/Program Deliverables
Participate in continuous improvement activities by identifying and appropriately escalating process and product quality gaps, providing solutions when possible
Qualifications/Requirements:
BS in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Experiences on electronics R&D in healthcare, automation, instrumentation, or telecommunication industry
Demonstrated technical depth in electrical design and mixed signal design
Good capability on electrical design tools and simulation tools Cadence, Matlab, PSPICE, etc
Working experience with PWA/PWB and subsystem design techniques for signal integrity, power integrity, and EMC circuit design and simulation tool experience
Excellent teamwork, coordination, and communication skills
Strong sense of ownership
Ability to meet aggressive reliability, performance, cost, serviceability, and delivery targets
Desired Characteristics:
MS in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Prior work at GEHC
Working knowledge of GEHC tools and processes EQPM, MyWorkshop
Demonstrated technical leadership capability in integration activities
Demonstrated self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
oral and written communication skills, and global project experience
Experienced in developing project plans and estimates
Design for Reliability and Manufacturability experience
DFSS or Green Belt/Black Belt Certified (Six Sigma Design/Quality)
