Description

This position will manage daily operation of Microscopy Customer Center Beijing, will have responsibilities in all areas of applications activities for microscopy including EM, LM, XRM and customer support at ZMCC BJ. The manager will lead the application team in Beijing customer center to support training for existing customers and provide support development of marketing collateral and participation at customer-facing events.

The manager reports to the national application manager, Shi Wei, and plays a leadership/supporting role with other apps in ZEISS Microscopy Customer Center Beijing and the field, to work closely together with apps and sales team applying ZSP process to ensure maximum success in demos and sample work and ensure all systems up-time and optimum performance. This will include performing actual sample work, demos, report generation and review as required for the best sales outcome.

This position has a significant component of customer interaction and face time so good people skills is necessary. Excellent time management skills, communication skills and ability to work in a team are also required. Conduct in accordance with company guidelines and standards is expected at all times. This Position will be based in Beijing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and above in
    technical discipline or equivalent. Demo lab or core facility lab
    management experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of XRM,
    XB, SEM, LM and imaging physics, with minimum 5+ years’ experience
  • Excellent presentation and
    writing skills in English

Main tasks

  • Optimize demo and sample
    measurement process for the EM, LM and XRM technology
  • Fully support Zeiss Selling
    Process
  • Management of a team of EM Demo
    Applications experts and coordinate their training and demo activities, to
    prepare and execute the customer demonstrations and sample runs.
  • Work in conjunction with sales
    personnel to understand customer requirements in advance of
    demonstrations.
  • Ensure that tools are in
    optimum condition in advance of demonstrations, as well as for customer
    use. Flag and push to resolution any issues that impede this performance.
  • Prepare reports for customers
    on the full results of demonstration or sample work. This includes data
    analysis, either from images or information from other detection
    technologies.
  • Develop and document
    methodologies for EM, LM and XRM applications according to what is needed
    and of value to current customer research needs.
  • Coordinate with and exchange
    learnings and best practices with global ZEISS Microscopy customer centers
  • Travel to customer sites to
    provide training and applications support.
  • Communicate to account
    management quickly and in detail any issues that impede customer
    productivity. Suggest technical path for resolution.
  • Travel to trade shows and
    conferences to support marketing and sales.
  • Write and present technical
    papers.
  • Engage in ongoing training in the company’s microscopy technology
    offerings.
  • Experience with field emission
    scanning electron microscopy and focused ion beam microscopy technologies.
  • Knowledge of and experience in
    sample preparation techniques for materials, semiconductor and life
    science microscopy.
  • Excellent communications
    skills.
