The Segment

Investment, Risk and Reinsurance:

Investment, Risk and Reinsurance (IRR) provide a comprehensive suite of solutions to help clients manage and measure risk and capital – through investment advice, advanced analytics, structuring and completing transactions, and placing risk. Our expansive offerings are key for clients who bring capital to risk and risk to capital. Our combined offering unlocks potential and creates sources of value for our clients by focusing on their business priorities: capital, strategy, operations, technology, risk and people.

The Business:

The Insurance Consulting and Technology (ICT) line of business provides risk consulting and financial modelling software solutions primarily to the insurance industry. ICT combines strategic and analytical skills to solve practical business problems, applying the latest techniques and technology solutions. We help manage risk and capital, improve business performance and create competitive advantage.

The Role

Overview of Position:

As a Life Insurance Consulting Senior Associate/Associate Director, you will work on project teams as a leader for our insurance and reinsurance company clients. You are expected to contribute to the business development, developing and maintaining client relationship, project management and staff mentoring etc. Our projects cover a wide range of fields including:

Traditional Actuarial Valuation and Reviews

l   Actuarial liabilities.

l   Embedded values and value of new business.

l   Solvency adequacy (including CROSS).

l   Efficiency improvements in client’s own valuation process.

Insurance Management Consulting

l   Product and Channel strategies.

l   New product design and pricing.

l   Customer strategies.

l   Asset liability management strategies.

l   Design and implementation of associated management information reports.

Sophisticated modelling

l   Asset liability management model.

l   Economic capital model.

l   Other stochastic / sophisticated models.

You will work closely with a variety of consultants and experts who will help you enhance your capability in terms of industry development trend knowledge, actuarial techniques, projects and team management.

The Requirements:

l     5-10 years’ working experience in insurance industry.

    

l     Teamwork focused, good communication skills with projects management experience preferred, able to efficiently manage the time table.

    

l     Strong desire to learn and solid problem-solving skills.

    

l     Strong written and oral communication skills (Mandarin and English).

    

l     Deep knowledge and practices on at least one actuarial software.

    

l     Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel (including VBA) and PowerPoint.

    

l     Fellow preferred.
